9th October 1995 ,in pouring rain at Newport High Street station videoing its many comings and goings ,activity there now being a shadow of its former self .
This video part 1 of 2 features mainly class 37s and 47s.

Driver of 37146 was enthusiastic on the throttle. Particularly interesting 37903 with short wheelbase ballast hoppers with Shark brakevan.

Rare glimpse of 37903. 😀👍The Shark is a Plough van, we used them for levelling the ballast once we had gone through dropping the stone, lower the Plough , then run back. Great job on a Sunny morning. Also, the Steel coils were still steaming when they passed through Shrewsbury, Probably 70miles further up the line. Great days back then, the weather is still the same lol. 😂👍

Great memories of newport before sheds took over. When ever i visited there or cardiff the weather never changed it rained😂

Fresh out of the oven, the Steel behind 37283. Have seen them steaming as they passed through Shrewsbury. The Scottish 37/4 were a long way from home lol. Shame it's all gone now,, nothing but boring 66s 🙄

Regrettably, the shock hits when one returns and sees the desertion. Here in the USA we had on my railroad lots of stations, junctions, yards etc. that were similarly busy. They are now closed. I feel badly about what the changes in service did to the railroad not for what survives but for what was lost. For example a roundhouse near to where I reside is now a dance club named Pufferbellies. Cute but not railroading.

Suspect, as 37/4s used to do Regional Railways services its one of those - Liverpool to Cardiff would be my guess but don't take my word for it
