Thanks for uploading this video and sharing your idea! I ran with it and built this rig. I love how light weight it is and how easy it was to assemble, without having to weld or have a larger wooden build. When I went to the hardware store, to purchase a piece of aluminum to mount the camera window mount on, they didn't have the right size in stock. I ended up purchasing a thicker, aluminum yard stick and it works great and cheaper than the aluminum stock would have been (sometimes you have to think outside the box)!

Awesome! Glad you were able to get some inspiration from this. Yeah, I had this idea for years, but just hadn't done anything because, like you, I had to find parts that weren't really "meant" for this. Thanks for watching!

how much would you charge for something like that?

Loved your idea. Could you please share what software you used to create this video. Especially like the embedding of the view from the 2nd camera

Hello! It was called Sony Movie Studio Platinum (a slimmed down version of Sony Vegas) however, Sony sold off their audio and video editing software to a company called Magix recently. Thanks for watching!

i think if you turned the rig around where the front part faces the back instead then reverse the camera mount. You will be able to have same point of view but without having to face the bar when you are having the bar at eye level.

For people who want to use a DSLR with this kind of rig, i suggest you add some support on the back.

It is awesome, but I would rather used the with desk light that you have on right hand, it could be a very good flexible tripod to use for this kind of video shooting.

I need to build something like this, but I will be simultaneously shooting frontal too, how do I make one that is out of the scene?

Hello! It would need to be tall enough and wide enough to be out of the frame. Some other building material might be better for something that large. Wood, PVC pipe, metal?

Hello! Yes, there are 8 speeds. This is the slowest, taking 2 hr 20 min to traverse 3 sections of track. The fastest would take about 2 minutes 45 seconds to traverse 3 sections of track.

OpenBeam is now sold by ZT Automations so you might want to update your amzn links. OpenBeam Starter Construction Kit: a.co/06IoDBc Sadly it looks like the Kossel Pro Extrusions-Only Pack is unavailable ( 3x 750mm and 9x 360mm) I don't see any 750mm lengths but there is 8 pack 600mm a.co/0xSnBTA (too many and too short) 6 pack 1000mm (1m) a.co/ixwz7CX (too many and a bit long but could but could be cut to length) Alternately, Makerbeam XL is also 15mm square and could do the trick Makerbeam XL Starter Pack (for hardware) a.co/2ugGVm4 Makerbeam XL 4 pack 750mm a.co/2XNpTTK (3 would be used) Makerbeam XL 4 pack 300mm a.co/935mVkr (2 would be used) These would be 60mm shorter than your Openbeam 360mm lengths but would probably still be stable.

Hello sir, same problem is being faced here in india for me. i checked out the parts here - www.amazon.in/OpenBeam-Precut-Construction-Clear-Anodized/dp/B0195NEDS2 parts are too expensive for me. can i somehow get hold of the parts only that i need for making this rig in india. i think the openbeam kit has many other parts that i may not need to make this rig.
