"Liberace of pens"! Brilliant, Stephen. Well done. I have several Benu pens and, though I don't think of myself as a sparkly individual, I like them quite a lot. Will I buy this pen? Not likely. Thanks for the fun review, and if I don't remark on anything soon, may your winter holidays be joyous and uncomplicated by conflict, disappointment, and the irritation of students who insist they deserve a grade that exceeds their performance.

The lovely thing about Benu is that it doesn't seem like they are even wanting to make pens that appeal to everyone. This isn't the pen for me either, several other Benus have been. But they are so consistent in quality, design sense, and execution -- if the concept behind one of their pens *does* speak to you, it is going to be unapologetically the most of that idea possible.

This was the first time I've seen Benu! Really like this, and indeed all of their pens, now I've seen them! Another great review... BTW, any chance of a review of the Wingsung/Junlai 900?

Not my style, but my daughter likes them a lot. I gave her the Christmas LE last year, with a little cat and a little dog on it, and Christmas lights. Nothing subtle about that pen! It makes me happy to see her enjoy it. I prefer very serious pens, but I’m glad that there are Benu pens in the world.

Thanks for the review! What to pay attention on when buying new old stock celluloid pens? Junctions, rubber parts? Does celluloid lose color over time and becomes “dull”?

The Liberace comment was spot on and it never dawned on me. That was great

Greetings from Australia. Great video as usual. A good writing pen, nice nib and wet. Observation: Many reviewers do reverse writing. I cringe every time and have to brace myself for that part. But we are all different and have our quirks. Thanks for the video.

I really like the blues in this one. It might be my favourite one from the Astrogem series. However the most likely one I'll get may be the Caviar Euphoria, due to it being the most subtly elegant one in my humble opinion.

I have expected the snowflakes to be moving inside, like in these souvenir balls filled with a liquid :) - maybe in some next iteration of this model. Benu pens are not for me, but it is good there is such option in the market.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your informative reviews. HOWEVER, my border collie LUCY objects to the test sentence that you and so many other reviewers use. As far as she is concerned, "The tricoloured dog jumps over the lazy fox." Merry Christmas!

BENU invites esthetic comments is it gaudy, or not? This crosses the gaudy threshold, “pleasant writer” notwithstanding.

I think it's entirely appropriate that something called an "astro gem" can be seen from space. ;)
