Him having 2 devil fruits is probably a unique trait of the yami yami no mi though. He already explained that it could "suck in" devil fruit powers, making devil fruit users like ordinary people against him. Not that much of a stretch to then also find out the yami yami no mi can fully absorb at least one other devil fruit. Blackbeard did say that it was the strongest devil fruit in the world after all. And it allowing the absorption of a second devil fruit can indeed make it as such. Even if being unable to avoid attacks is a pretty heavy drawback.

@@Sanquinitythe yami yami no mi isn’t the reason why black beard has two devil fruits, 1st off we gotta wait until more about his 2 fruit abilities comes out, we still don’t know the full extent of why he has two fruits or maybe more . Your theory does make sense and it wouldn’t be fair to call it wrong, but in my opinion I think black beard has two fruits because of his body. There’s one theory that says black beard is actually a descendant of joy boy, and he has a strong body like him. Making him able to withstand a lot, in fact how do we know you can’t eat two devil fruits. Characters are scared to try. How do we know once you reach a certain level of strength you can eat two, we wouldn’t know because the strongest fighters would be too scared to eat it. But I think this theory makes sense as this would be an amazing foreshadowing to Luffy vs Blackbeard. The will of joyboy(luffy) vs a descendant of joyboy(Blackbeard).

My reasoning being: 1: In his fight against Ace he said that the Yami Yami no Mi allows him to "absorb devil fruit powers". Which in the fight manifests in Ace being drawn in first, and then being unable to use his powers. With the drawback that he can't dodge attacks as those gets drawn to him no matter what as well. 2: Blackbeard says the Yami Yami no Mi is the strongest devil fruit power. But the above + being able to draw in debris/people and spitting them out again would hardly make it the strongest power. So yea, my theory is that the fruit allows it's user to absorb 1 more power. Like how Law's fruit allows him to make a person immortal once, and how Brook's fruit allows him to resurrect once. Heck maybe the Yami Yami no Mi allows him to absorb multiple powers. Or maybe it even allows him to absorb powers and grant them to others, kind of like how his black hole sucks things in but can also spit them out again on his command. Or maybe I'm completely wrong of course.

Because BB didn't get his second fruit powers by eating a fruit at all (at least not the regular way), he did some kind of ritual with White Beard to get a hold of the powers of the Gura-Gura no mi. Whether this is due to the nature of his devil fruit, a special constitution or anything isn't known at the moment. But for sure what IS known is that he was able to take for himself and also able to give others DF powers, although it seems they have to die for that (otherwise he could just use people as DF storage and swap at will). Sooner or later, there might be a time where they reveal the minor details of how all that work, but not now.

this is honestly fantastic just storywise in my opinion. the other vice captains like Zoro and Killer have have been able to show why they're the 2nd in command to their respective captains strength, and now Bepo can show his strength kicking a bit of Blackbeard Crew butts
