Here’s part 2 of my Beppu Onsen episode! Ryokan food and sake go so well together 🤤

I'm curious as someone who sits in front of a computer from 6 am to 2:45 myself, how did you find time to do videos? I have been working there for 2 months and I am still sleep depraved.

I really hope that there will be more videos in the future. It's always fun watching you!

Thanks for going through the items during your dinner menu at the Onsen Ryokan. What I appreciate is all the variety you get with the meal. People might think the servings are "small" but you get a lot of variety and you don't get tired of eating one type of food. The chilled red wine was really interesting too, I've never drank a cold red outside a mixed drink like a sangria. The glass was frosted as well, I guess the coldness was to accentuate the "sour" notes? I'm not really a wine expert but the pairing was probably meant to harmonize with your course at the time. It's great to watch your videos during my breakfasts & coffee again :)

I think some restaurants just don’t know how to serve wine 😅 it’s not that rare to find chilled red wine in restaurants in Japan lol But it does make the red wine more refreshing, so it’s actually quite ok in my opinion

Loving your videos. Keep it up😃What cool place. Thks for showing us your dinner . Loved how you mom teased you. Too cute 😍
Great clips from Beppu, Sarah, well done. I was hoping to see more in detail about the breakfast. I totally love Japanese breakfasts, especially in ryokans. So tasty and diverse compared to the croissant and jam I grew up with in France. Maybe you can do a Japanese breakfast special one day?

"Go hard or go home"...... Alright, British Foodie Sarah! 🤣 You know... There's something about Asian women who speak British English, as opposed to American English, that I find really attractive and welcoming. I don't need to be reminded of home, in fact I hope to spend as much time away from home as possible now (I would love to be able to stay in Japan for a while and learn everything I can), BUT still one cannot help but notice things that may remind them of home, and in so doing find some comfort in familiarity. I have never eaten jellyfish, but I am planning a two month trip to Japan in the Spring of next year... I will try pretty much anything while I am over there, although probably not any raw chicken.... So I will try some "crunchy" jellyfish. By the way, Sarah, you NEVER look red! You look happy and radiant!

I may have missed it in both videos, can I ask if the dinner and breakfast included in the fees of the stay or they charged you for meal separately?
@TokyoFoodieSarah Жыл бұрын
Yes the dinner and breakfast were included! In some ryokans you can choose the plan with dinner and breakfast, either or none. I personally like the dining experience at ryokans, so I usually pick the course with both dinner and breakfast

Q: Does cherry blossom salt actually have a unique taste or is it just colored?
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
It has the slightest hint of cherry blossoms! It’s more for the smell rather than the taste I think 🌸

Don't be embarrassed by getting red faced from alcohol, most East Asians have too much of an enzyme which causes this. A nickname is the Asian glow, so nothing wrong with that! ☺

I really enjoyed your presentation. A word of caution for you. DOnt drink since you blush easily . It means your body cannot process liquor well. It could be detrimental to your health. I am following you and thank you for all your videos which I just discover recently
