The coral reef is destroyed from the mass amount of tourists hanging on and stepping all over the reef. They had a garbage can full of bait to atrack predatory fish. Its so sad people think they are seeing a beautiful reef system but in reality they are seeing a once beautiful reef destroyed and are only seeing fish lured in to take their money. The amount of coral and biodiversity of many fish species that once inhabited the area are gone.

Joelle, They have been feeding sharks on that site for years. The divers are in the sand and we're hanging on a rope anchored in the sand to keep everyone together and off the reef. The locals work hard to protect sharks and the environment there. I have been an instructor for 30 years with 30 years of annual underwater clean ups. So please do not lecture me about conservation based on 1 video.

Awesome video! I did that dive in 2007 and though I didn't see a tiger shark we saw lots of bulls. It's an experience you'll never forget.

Is it wise teaching tiger sharks that humans are a source of food? Later when the shark is hungry and spots a swimmer, would it see a source of food ?

I’m not sure it is a good idea hand feeding sharks. Isn’t it teaching them to associate humans with food?

Why do they wear those damn wetsuits? Idk if those sharks eat seals...but I'd think they could use a more "camo" style of suit...
@divertony28754 жыл бұрын
Actually, we had to wear full long sleave dark suits or skins. No white or yellow fins are allowed because the sharks will mistake light colors for food. There are not any seals or sea lions in Fiji

Tiger shark is waiting on the main course. I guess none of these guys were ever taught not to run with scissors. Y'all are just looking for trouble.
