They are great little pistols. You may have a Beretta 950 or 21 which are very close to the 21A. In fact, the only difference between the 21 and 21A is the 21A's frame is aluminum and the 21's frame is steel. The 21A was not produced until 1984. If you have a 21, hang on to it. They're getting very hard to find.

Small pistols with barrel lengths of less than 3" are sub-sonic with all 22LR ammo. Even CCI Stingers are sub-sonic (less than 1100 fps). Don't use sub-sonic ammo in these as likely to induce numerous failures on the slide to fully cycle. Standard pressure 36-40 grain cartridges are best. The increased back pressure from firing suppressed actually makes the 21A more reliable.

To shoot such a firearm, there's two other ways to try. 1. Line up the sights with your arm outstretched; once the gun is aligned, move everything as a unit, and place over the target.. Sort of like using "the force" .. The trick is to MOVE as a whole over the target, and stopping where you feel that it's over the target. 2. Line up the sights.. Then the suppressor is in alignment. Aim down the top edge of the suppressor to shoot it. You should see the edge of the can, but not the sides of the can. The further the target, the greater you will likely be off .. More useful for shorter ranges.. I prefer using "the force" ; The method that the one guy mentioned is essentially "using the force" ..Very much like using a red dot. Due to the short barrel, the suppressed .22LR Beretta is one of the quietest suppressed firearms out there. The apps on the phone are worthless due to the nature of gunshots being an instantaneous sound, and the phones not being able to capture such a sound. Video does an equally atrocious job of capturing gun shots for the same reason. A pistol like that un-suppressed would be about 155 to 160 db approximately, and about 115 db suppressed. I would expect the Beretta Bobcat will do slightly better as the velocity is reduced. The suppressor he's using is a really good quality suppressor. .

I have a 21A from 1992 made in Maryland factory. It doesn’t work well with high velocity ammo of popular makes. It works best with Wildcat round nose standard loads.

A DB meter app for a phone. The only thing you can rely on is the numbers will have no semblance to reality. The microphone is 98% of the equation and cell phone mics don't have the sensitivity to accurately measure the pressure wave.

OK, a couple of things. First, hearing safe is 115 dB. So, I don't think your reading was correct, pretty sure your reading should have been 125-130 or so unsilenced. Second, .22 LR needs about 11 inches of barrel to burn all the powder for the max velocity, so, from that short of a barrel, everything you shoot will be subsonic. So, that means you don't have to use subsonic ammo Which is generally more expensive than standard velocity and harder to find. Other than those quibbles, I like your video. And more people should buy and use silencers, if I had started using one at your age, I'd have a lot better hearing now.

Using sub ammo out of a 2-3inch barrel is pointless. With the short barrel it’s pretty much getting the same speed so the same results. Use pistol ammo like fed punch or other short barrel 22lr ammo it will help the reliability of the firearm.

As an owner of a suppressed PPK/S in .22, I feel confident in stating Jimbo Bond and I are both happy with our choice. I contemplated a bobcat, but it’s just an ugly gun. I run subs from 835 fps and up all day while carrying on a normal conversation with people, grilling, etc. even got a giant bianchi shoulder holster to accommodate the can so I can quickly stow when I need to flip the burgers. Also, my can is low profile enough to not need suppressor height sights!

How do you find the accuracy on yours? Have you recorded accuracy on paper targets with different ammo? I'd be interested in seeing a video like that. I have the original Inox, which isn't threaded and even between 10-13 yards on a carboard box that was 6x8 inches, the shots were wildly all over the place. They definitely pulled to the left, even when I was concentrating. The ammo I used was Winchester Super X 40 grain, "small game, target, plinking". I then switched to CCI Mini Mags, which did tighten up the group a little, but it was still all over the place. I know that I'm a good shot, so I'm not sure what's up. I could be pulling the some of the shots, but who knows. I want to get a threaded one, but I wish the gun was more accurate. Maybe My expectations are too much from a 2-inch barrel, but I really do think the gun (and me) can do a lot better. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. Great video and have a nice day!
