Lovely gun I've got a 486 parrello 30inch fixed choke straight hand stock and splinter fore end ,and the wood is really nice ,and I shoot really well with it had it 3 years now and it's never gonna leave me, I've refinished the stock on mine and looks great but I don't know why beretta just don't put a bit more effort in and fill the grain more and more oil to get a better finished product ,great review though Alex

Hiya, thanks for your comment, I’m glad you enjoyed the review. I bet the fixed choke is very good. Completely agreee with you about the wood. I don’t get why they don’t finish it better either but it does give us all more options

It would be really sweet if Beretta would make the 486 in a 410 with 29-30” barrels. Very rare to see a quality 410 SxS within reason these days. Rizzini is about the only one out there without going into lots of money.

That would be pretty sweet. However, I have been impressed with the Webley & Scott range of the .410 and they have recently released a sxs .410 it’s worth a look x

Really great review. I just received the 486 - 10th anniversary in 20 bore. There were tool marks on the 2 screws where the trigger guards meets the stock. On the 10th edition that area is black so the tool marks show noticeably. The barrel selector is also not working well. It will not move easily from the left to the right. Not movable with the thumb. Do you think the barrel selector will loosen up after shooting? I'm surprised that a special edition gun like this would be shipped with tool marks. The gun was purchased new at a dealer in Canada. When sent to me there were no plastic coverings on the gun. I'm wondering if they had a customer purchase, use, and return it without disclosing it to me. They are a well known store and I have bought a few guns from them, so I doubt that would have not disclosed that. Maybe it's typical to be shipped without plastic coverings. However, my 686 silver pigeon came with all plastics on, barrel, receiver, everything. Curious if you have any advice for me. Your content is fantastic.

Hey! Thanks for enjoying the content. I’m so hyper sorry to hear about your dreadful Beretta experience. I mean.. really? I hope you got this sorted and people were very kind and apologetic to you. The 20 bore will make it a lighter gun, more sxsish (new word) I think you need to kick up a bit of a fuss over this, there may be a bit of a story as you say, just keep firm, it’s not what you paid for. I can’t believe what you are going through. Over here we are lucky because only one company imports Beretta and they are very good to deal with. Please let me know how you get on. All the best Alex

No I don’t think it will loosen up for what it’s worth.

Thanks for the review, I bought my 486 Deep Scroll (pistol grip) in July. I currently use it for clays and game, try one/buy one, a really pretty and usable SxS , what is there not to love???
