Got mine last week and shot it yesterday. Excellent shooting gun and at normal pistol distances very accurate. I bought a 84 380 mag and lightly hammered the lips until the bullets sit about the same as the stock mag. Shot about 40 rounds fine also holds 13 instead of 12

Nice review! The surplus 81's were an absolute phenomenal value. I purchased a BB version. Already have three of the new production 81 FS for my collection. Really enjoy the 7,65mm cartridge. Magazines are now readily available.

I got mine from Gander outdoors. I don't think it was ever fired. Mine were BB so gross are like your replacement. Got 2 mags from beretta. 37.50 each

Nice.was communicating with cf & planned on getting 1.HAD around 10 % of shipment left right when the virus hit.still getting one when the dust settles.maybe an import surplus maybe one that's sitting on a shelf new somewhere.dk get but getting one.enjoy.since you have the old grips just laying around ,if it were me I think I'd try slimming them down & contouring to your hand or something along those lines.if yo took to much off of messed up add some epoxy & to at it again.just a thought.would be something to do while on lockdown.have a good one.

I bought an 81BB. I really like it. Also I’m finding 32acp is available and still somewhat affordable. My real treasure is my 87BB in 22lr that I found years ago. The Cheetah series is very well made and they are beautiful guns.

I picked up some rosewood aftermarket grips with inlaid Beretta medallions and the gun is beautiful, also mags went up on classic this week for $32 a mag

If you want another magazine but don't want to pay $40+ for an official .32 ACP mag, get a Beretta 84 .380 ACP magazine, either Beretta or aftermarket, and use a mallet to GENTLY bend the feed lips in a tiny bit to match the feed lips on the .32 mag. The outside dimensions and mechanics are exactly the same. You might get some variation in mag capacity depending on magazine brand but it will work fine. There's a couple videos on how to do this, just search KZbin.

Thanks for the video!... nice job!. Is there a difference between an 81 in .32 and an 81 cheetah in .32 or, are they the same thing? When I bought mine, it was sold as an 81 cheetah, chambered in .32. I have not found anything in my research that points this model to be a cheetah.... thanks, mine is Italian made in 1981. It seems the Cheetah tag was a marketing point for the pistols made in the USA, whereas the Italian made version of the same gun were not tagged Cheetah in the model designation .... Does this sound reasonable to you?

I just recieved my 81 today from Classic Arms, paid the extra 25 bux for hand select. Overall it's in really good condition similar to this one. Although the pistol in this video had the grips and grip screws replaced for a new set... Those are 84fs grips.

@@dav8194 For what its worth, I got one from classic last week no hand select and it was actually in pretty nice shape. It's kind of a gamble with them, though, I think. I got lucky and mine has quickly become a favorite to shoot at the range.

Kris N.....I got mine 2 weeks ago from Classic. The lower half was in very goog condition. Now the slide seemed like it was not the original. It had some rust, and some light pitting. Overall though, I'm happy with my purchase. Was prepared to spend more a year ago on one that was in about the same condition. I plan on refinishing the slide...then it should look pretty darn good. This pistol should last longer than me!

They are great pistols. I have one. The only problem is that Beretta held back the magazine from being sold in the USA. In Europe they have them all over the place, but here in the USA they are scares! Also when you do find one they are over price $50 bucks for a .32 ACP magazine!!! In Europe they sell for about 30 euros. Hey they will not let Americans buy them!! Figure that one out. Let them know. Email, Call, message them on FaceBook!!!! Boycott Beretta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

81 magazines were never scarce in the U.S. prior to the large surplus pistol shipments. I have purchased at least twenty for 39 each before the supply dried up. Now supplies of 81 mags are relatively back to normal. Although, at a higher premium.
