PX4 Is a great pistol. But Glock if you buy into the system. For all it's drawbacks. You can run the same mags in everything, in the same caliber. As long as you're mag is longer than the frame of the pistol. In a G26 you can have a 10 round mag up to a 33 round mag.

Unless someone who has the original version wants an optic cut, there truly is no reason to buy the APX A1. Especially, if you've replaced the sights with aftermarket sights with tritium. Also, if you want an optic there you can buy a dovetail plate from Christiansen Components.

I have 5 originals from different places. I have the 2 originals, 1 Italian model with a cut for optics, and two Brazilian models with a chambered round indicator. Also have the A1. Unless you buy some crazy competition pistol, this is about as good as good as it gets.

The take down is actually easier if the slide is forward and trigger already pressed , you just push in and turn the lever and the slide starts to move forward slightly, Then you can slide it off.

Just got the a1 carry for the same reason. I thought the trigger was noticeably worse than my glocks or beretta 92s but its smoothed out from dry firing and a range trip, pretty solid feeling for $230 after rebate!

@@gswguy4554 DME Holsters does an A0 model, not an A1 as of yet. I got an A0 frame for my A1 gun. It's an extra $50, but I also got a green one and two-toned my gun so I feel better about it. Even at $550 the APX is a heck of a deal when Glocks are $600+

I just picked one of these up with a Burris Fastfire 3 mounted for $499. That's not including the $50 rebate from Beretta. The trigger on mine feels alot like the PPQ I had, but with a bit higher trigger pull weight. My calibrated trigger finger measures it at about 5 lbs. I actually like this trigger better than the PPQ. It is more controllable to me. PPQ trigger was too light and the reset was spongy. I would occasionally get unintentional double taps with it.

I spent a lot of time deciding on my first firearm and tried out the Glock 19 & 17, Sig p320, M&P 2.0, Walther PDP, H&K VP9, and probably 1 or 2 more I'm forgetting, and I liked the Beretta APX A1 the most. The Walther had a great trigger but didn't feel good when I shot it, and the M&P had the exact opposite problem (and I do have to say that the M&P would have been my second choice). The A1 shot amazing and just had THE best feel on both felt-recoil and the *exceptional* ergos. I'm about 300 rounds in now (and have added a light to the rail) and just keep loving this more and more.

Sold!!! I was looking at getting a Walther PDP. I have a Walther PPS m2 and have shot PPQ's and i love Walther's triggers which I think are some of the nicest. That being said Beretta makes great guns and at its current price, I can buy the Beretta and add a light or optic for the price difference

When it comes to the takedown I drop the slide, pull the trigger, pull the slide back slightly (just like a Glock) with my left hand and then push and turn the lever with my right. Easier than a Glock IMO.

Great review. I ran into the same issue with the trigger on mine wasn’t very impressed out-of-the-box but after a few hundred rounds it really felt pretty good thought maybe it was Stockholm syndrome. Note on the takedown, I thought it was ridiculously hard as well. Some comments in my video made me take another look at it. If you drop the slide back into battery, it’s actually easier to depress the button with the slide closed instead of locked back like almost every other pistol. Didn’t think about that at first because I was so used to the 92 and other similar styles.

THE DISASSEMBLY LEVER SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH THE SLIDE LOCKED OPEN. The lever is tensioned by the recoil spring, so it's obviously VERY stiff whan the spring is compresssed. It' only needs to retract the slide a little bit to "depress the striker deactivation button" (that's why it tells to "hold it" while doing it) or, in alternative, with the slide closed, once sure the gun isn't loaded you can simply pull the trigger (like in a Glock). THEN, with the slide closed, you use the lever.

Yeah. This is “the trick” go disassembly. 1. Clear 2. Pull trigger (or use the sear release) 3. Press button on right side 4. Rotate takedown lever on the left side

Also had 2 malfunctions in the first 1-200 rounds. But I fully blame the fact they were LAX reloads..but who knows. Since then, I'm now a bit over 1,000 rounds now and the trigger on mine has DEFINITELY gotten alot better. I love it. Not a fan of the auto slide release "feature"..happens only when I insert a loaded mag in firmly( not forcefully ). But overall great gun. Especially at 410$ which is what I paid

I purchased mine a couple months ago, have been using the "crunchy" trigger like a stress ball I'm sure I've pulled it many thousands of times (unloaded) seems to be wearing down the gravely feeling, it will either smooth out to my satisfaction or break...It's a bummer a trigger upgrade isn't available..

Bought one earlier this year. It would not run 115GR without stovepiping (the first 34 rounds). It ran 124GR and 147GR just fine. Even after 150 rounds of 124GR & 147GR it still stovepiped every time on 115GR rounds. This is ammo that runs successfully in very other pistol I own. Replaced the factory installed recoil spring assembly with the original APX double spring and it has run flawlessly since that change. The RSA that came in it made it extremely difficult to rack the slide. I agree about the trigger getting better with use. Have about 500 rounds through it now.

just received the Beretta APX A1 full size factory made holster (Civilian Kit) for my Brand New APX A1 and the damn thing doesn't come close to fitting, no matter what I do including removing the tension screws works. The rail runs into the bottom of the holster, blocking the entry. I'll try to send it back, hope they stand behind their product as I'm very disappointed. Up date to follow.

I had an original APX and the ejection was oddly weak. Cases would dribble out of the ejection port and land on my hand while I was shooting. I doubt that ejection could possibly be weaker without actually failing to eject. The POI with the sights was also maddeningly low; I had to use the bottom quarter or so of the front sight as my POA.

When you have a red dot on them, the cases eject right into it. I bought the apx a1 full size w/ burris ff3. $499 combo sale. Update- 400rd update 2 stove pipes and one 21rd (beratta) mag spring broke. ☹ wouldnt carry it but its still a fun range pistol.

When you are on a budget, and carry glock for duty use. It's very hard to stray away from magazine fit, if you only have a 26, you can run 10 rounds to 33 in a single platform. I have a 17 for duty use, a 19 for concealed carry, and a 26 as a backup in both roles. From the largest Magazine I carry, I can use it in the backup.

Walther PDP same way, have to order the optic plate for the one you buy, they send one for free and it came pretty quick. Kind of annoying, were I Beretta or Walther I'd at least have the Trijicon and Holosun at FFLs, but I've worked in corporate and I know the penny shaving that goes on. Seems like Canik hustles a. lot more than other companies now for market share and seems to be working. I'm pretty sure some board rooms at the traditional powers are following their lead more than anyone expected. I like my Caniks a lot and they come with literally everything out of the box just as my Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS did. Really a nice touch. Seems like Beretta makes a decent polymer pistol, never had one but this seems pretty cool. It's hard to pick pistols anymore as they're all seeming to be pretty good.

UPDATE: i tried to buy 2 different Beretta APX a1's and brand new from Bass Pro and then Kittery Trading Post, and BOTH were JUNK !!! 1st one had damaged magazines and wouldn't hold slide open, the 2nd the take down lever was junk, and i had 4 other try it including a gunsmith and none could get it to work, needless to say both guns were returned and i will never buy a beretta again........junk

😂🤣🤣 zamek w Beretta APX nie był otwarty na koniec strzelania, bo trzymałeś ciągle naboje w magazynku. Z czasem sprężyna w magazynku słabnie i dlatego zamek na koniec nie będzie otwarty. Rozbierasz magazynek, sprężynę lekko rozciągasz i wszystko znowu działa. 😂 pozdrawiam nieświadomego użytkownika 🫢
