the VP9 is one of the best guns I've ever shot... but I'm gonna pick up an APX because it's half the price for the same quality

You can find the APX A1 full size now for $400. Toss in the $100 rebate from Beretta, and it's $300. You can buy one to keep and one for your spouse for the cost of the HK. Love mine. Amazing pistol.

Thank you for doing yet another APX video! I've watched every one you've uploaded since buying my full sized for home defense back in Oct 2020. It was my first firearm and was such a wonderful experience (and price!) I had to get a Centurion for CCW. It breaks my heart that you have to pay such a premium price compared to what we pay in the USA but it is still well worth it! I look forward to future content!

The APX upgraded to the APX A1 and it look very nice. Palmetto Armory has the optics ready for $480 while the HK VP9 is $599 no optics. Beretta has a modular system where you can switch the frames and the gun is as reliable as the HK. The only reason now to get the VP is that you've got money to burn.

My vote is the APX. Both are great but with the prices here in Kentucky I got the full size and the Centurion model for $730 for both Beretta pistols. 👍👍👍

They are awesome pistols I agree. The price they sell for in the US is a steal. Especially since it is a high quality pistol from a manufacturer like Beretta! Thanks for supporting our channel!

Thanks for making this video. I'm a big VP9 fan and user but I have been eyeing the APX for a while now. For the very low price they are selling for here in the States (under $400!) it seems almost silly NOT to buy one. Based on appearance (I've never held an APX) it seems like these two pistols have very similar ergonomics. Do you find that to be the case in shooting them? Thanks again.
@BlackBearOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
The APX has a chunkier feel to the slide and is not as customizable out of the box as the VP9 but it is still very comfortable in the hand and a pleasure to shoot. I love mine. I wish we could get them at the price you guys have in the US and it is a Beretta at that price. The APX is very accurate too. check out our video on the APX adjustable sights from Beretta. Thanks for supporting our channel!

Would love to see the comparison with the new apx a1. Thanks
@marcoss6212 Жыл бұрын
The only difference I found is the tolerance. What I mean by that is in build, I have the first generation and my friend has the A1, at first you might think that the APX is smoother when racking of cleaning, but the A1 requires a longer break in period (some don't believe in it), just because as I said, the tolerances in build are higher but not by much. The only mechanical difference is that the A1 comes with the green competition fire pin, after that they are the same, trigger and all, hope to be of help to you, again, my personal opinion and experience.

There is a wide range of quite nice aftermarket accessories for the APX from Toni Systems. Swopping out frames on the APX is also very quick and easy.

The customizability of the H&K handle is simply incredible.
@nn431xru12 жыл бұрын
The main difference is the way they’re built. The APX is built like a tank, massive slide and much thicker steel rails. Just like HKs USP. I can only compare the APX to the Glock. The APX is built tougher and stronger than glock for sure.
@stopthephilosophicalzombie90172 жыл бұрын
The manufacturing on the VP9 just isn't that great. You can tell it's a budget HK gun. Spot welds and other stuff make it seem cheap.

Do you also get the trigger finger "pinch" when you shoot the APX? Or failure to feed on the last round?
@BlackBearOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I have not experienced either of those issues myself.
@marcoss6212 Жыл бұрын
Maybe late response. I had a couple of failure to feed the first day I took it to the range, it should shoot whatever you feed it with, but as suggested by someone else, Berettas are made and tested with NATO rounds, I was shooting with 115grains, switched to 124grains (which is NATO) and voilà, problem solved. Waiting for new APX A1 to be delivered next Saturday 😎

Although the paddle magazine release really is a clever idea in of itself because you can't really accidentally drop the magazine by hitting the would-be button, it is ugly and flimsy-looking even if it really isn't. Not to be picky, but the really long slide release on the H&K is likewise: flimsy-looking, although it probably isn't. Just my $0.02.

Own a HK P30sk and P30L. Same grip as the VP9 but hammer fired. I also own 3 APX handguns. With that said and if I had to choose between the. VP9, P30, or APX, I'd carry my APX... Keep in mind I have Glocks, S&W M&P 2.0s, and other handguns.

Being Italian I'm a Beretta fan of course, have 3 APXs, full size, Centurion and Carry. Have shot the VP9 just a couple of time and not sure the VP9's trigger is better, different but not better or worse, both guns are fabulous and to me shoot the same. The question of price, you get more gun for the price with the Beretta, why spend 300 more dollars to shoot the same? Not me. Having said that you can't go wrong with either gun. Thanks for the video Black Bear!

VP all the way! Never a failure! Not ammo sensitive such as the APX.
@BlackBearOutdoors Жыл бұрын

@heinrichstoltz1356 Жыл бұрын
Want to disagree on ammo sensitivity on the APX. I own all 3 versions of the APX original, and a VP9. I shoot all of them a lot in Production Class and steel challenge. The APX will cycle all ammo I put through mine, have never had a single issue with any. Super reliable handguns.
@mrmoney40379 ай бұрын
@@heinrichstoltz1356thank you for sharing personal experience with both. Very helpful to know you are cycling a lot of ammo through them. I wouldn normally lean towards vp9 as my instinct tells me HK is a tighter tolerance manufacturer over beretta. Although the smarter fiscal decision for me takes me to APX. Price wise is an absolute bargain. This will be my first polymer purchase as I’ve always preferred stainless frames. I could stretch to the vp9 if I could find a good reason to pay more money but so far I haven’t heard any opinions that suggesting it’s worth it.
@mrmoney40379 ай бұрын
Is ammo sensitivity substantiated as an issue for APX? Or could it be a problem contained issues other than reliability of the APX? I am purchasing for defense so I will not be cycling large numbers through the gun outside of practice at the range. Most likely a stupid question but I shouldn’t have any issues with low usage correct? Of course I keep up with periodic test firing and proper maintenance.
@D-Mag9 ай бұрын
If my life is dependent upon ammo or gun performance I will not go with the one that has sensitivity issues. VP9 is proven and reliable. That’s why I CCW a VP9

"Bonus point for HK. In the US the HK ships with a 17 round mag..." You mentioned that the Beretta ships with a 15 round magazine with the full-size APX, yet the majority ship with the 17 rounders. I don't doubt that the 15s are available, but the default are 17 rounds, and 10 rounds for the California-compliant versions.

The Good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good: There are some many pistols being made today that it's difficult to pick a bad one. The Bad: It's almost not worth getting another pistol, because the one that you already have works great. The Ugly: We are always looking for an excuse to purchase another firearm and the manufacturers know this so they temp us with minimal upgrades, lower prices, or jack up prices to give us the perception of quality when in reality a more expensive pistol shoots as well as ones that cost less.
@sinistar4262 жыл бұрын
Beretta needs to ditch the proprietary dovetail sight cuts. They dont offer as many options with aftermarket sights as the Glock cut.
