I have the Nano and Pico .380 that I sometimes throw in my pocket on the way out the door. Both, by design, have a longer heavier pull which acts as a safety feature. As with any firearm, you should master that weapon with frequent range time. Most self defense encounters will require you to quickly draw and fire from the hip. The difference in trigger pull weight will not be an issue.

I love my Nano. Built like a tank, reliable and very accurate . The snag free design is a big reason for my purchase. No slide stop, don't miss it either.

I prefer to have a slide stop, but it's not really a deal breaker. The gun shot very well, but I'm still not a fan of its trigger. "Built like a tank" is right! It's a very solid little handgun!

I replaced my LC9s with the Nano and am totally delighted with it. As far as trigger goes, spend more time with the Nano and you will come to love it. I can shoot the Nano much faster than most of the small 9mm's out there. There are smooth as any I have seen. The Shield and Nano will be a personal choice. I have shot the Shield many times, and well, I bought the Nano. And have to say the Nano has proven itself to be one heck of a reliable gun. Eats anything I put in it. So mild, I can shoot hundreds of rounds without any hesitation. As far as build quality, I will also say, I think Beretta has it down. I mean they are solid as a tank. Both great guns, it will always be a subjective choice. Thanks for the video.

I own both and love both! I carry the Shield most of the time, but the Nano is nice to ankle carry or when wearing less layers during the warmer months. I trust both 100% with my life!

I have both and I carry the Shield9mm 90% of the time. It doesn't need a break-in period ,unlike my Nano. I bought the Nano 12/2013 and it took 600 rounds to start breaking in and stop getting FTF and FTE. After 1300 rounds the Nano was like butter. The Shield has way more upgrades available . I have an Apex trigger in it now and you can add an extra round or 2 in the stock magazines. I have night sights on both.

I will add the comment that you do not need a slide stop and they are totally unnecessary. In fact proper training is to not use them anyway. Spend more time with the Nano and you will not want to even go back to using one. As far as magazines, they fit flush on the Nano. Beretta made the 8 round mag to purposely extend longer which the 7 shot mag is completely flush and you can get a Pinky extension if you desire. The Nano is very smooth shooter and recoil is very mild. The fact is the Sheild is bigger and weighs a few oz more. The muzzle flip on the Nano is almost non existent. And the Nano is modular design which is a big plus. You can change small parts on your own and or change out grips. The gun is stainless steel chassis and no aluminum. It is built like a tank. It was designed to handle 40 cal ammo and the pressures of 40.cal. You should have shot some Plus P or Hot ammo. The Nano will handle it better than the Shield will standard ammo. Regardless both are nice guns and thanks to American we all have some great choices. For me, the Nano is creme of the Crop. Beretta thought out every little detail and it shows.

I love my nano. But I haven't so much as held a shield yet so I can't make an opinion on that. I've polished the trigger bar and the chassis where they rub together. And replaced the plastic striker guide for the Galloway precision stainless steel striker guide. The Nano is built like a tank because it was designed around the 40sw cartridge but last minute they decided to only make it in 9mm. In fact the nano magazines hold 6 rounds of 40sw (which is why you can stick 7 rounds of 9mm in the magazine but it won't lock into the magazine well with the slide closed). My nano is more accurate at 10 yards than all my larger pistols with longer barrels. I have yet to get my hands on a shield so I won't rule bash it until I get to try it.

I am looking at these two for my small built/new shooter daughter. Also I do prefer a safety on pistols, since on revolvers we can leave a chamber empty to prevent ADs. I only feel safe to keep a round chambered if the pistol has a decocker/safety combo ie ppks, older s&w pistols which I prefer to carry. The CZ pistols with safety only are ok because of the hal cock capability. Many militaries in the world train with pistols while having empty chamber (IDF included) and incorporate that in carrying. Keep in mind that a pistol is not the main armament for all militaries including the US, at least in my 11 years experience.

You can't compare the an accidental trigger pull on a revolver(without the hammer cocked) and a striker fired pistol. There are zero accidental revolver fires on KZbin but there are tons of accidental striker fire shots. There's also quite a few of them shooting themselves.

My Nano had problems right out of the box which I was not happy about. I decided to upgrade the guide rod, striker guide, blocker & sear spring with upgraded parts from Galloway Precision. All problems were fixed immediately with the upgrades. Now the Nano is a great firearm. Be safe everytime friends.

I wouldn't be a fan of a gun that didn't function well right out of the box though. That would make me question reliability.

I shot the Nano extremely well, but had far too many stovepipes. I had it serviced, then traded it for a much more reliable XDS. Beretta had excellent customer service, so I can give them that. As opposed to FN USA. ugh

Silly. He doesn't know the difference between a DA revolver trigger and a SA pistol relative to the need for a safety? I think it's stupid when someone says they don't like safeties. If you don't know how to use one then you need more practice. I think reviewers have a responsibility to promote the safe use of firearms. There are a lot of ND's and accidental shootings with striker, non-safety firearms. I think it's irresponsible for presenters to criticize safeties.

Nano..designer look like to intend to made the problem ..how the hand can hold the carry gun with two fingers..who can control the shooting..shield also same for 7+1 rounds magazine...jokingly for me..it was not complete for user,why?
@claymontg7 жыл бұрын
Does anyone keep the hammer cocked on a revolver all the time as a striker is cocked when loaded all the time? Safety are good on striker guns. There's a higher risk of accident with minimal safety guns that someone will ever get into a gunfight? Also someone will have a greater chance of surviving a gunfight by avoiding than someone that seeks to challenge that fight? Real talk, who really knows when they are going to be attacked? It's a surprise!!! Who's walking around everyday whiting and expecting a SURPRISE? A ready gun is ready to be used against you SURPRISE! Learn hand to hand compact then you're less likely to fail yourself if your equipment does. Oops gun failed to fire, restart that situation, oh no time... Now what? You clutch your fists and give thim HELL! (let the Mike Tyson out or HULK) No reloading just stick and move... They WILL leave and they will respect you... Bonus: Living in bad high crime areas, an attacker usually wants something of value to them and that's not your life. Here in Illinois you can only defend your life not your things so give and report if not you will still lose your freedom. So how does one win in that situation?
@GunslingerFirearmsandGear7 жыл бұрын
I completely agree that the best option is always to avoid a fight. I couldn't care less about material things... but if someone is attacking, they mean to do all the harm they have to in order to get what they want. In that kind of situation, it becomes defense of one's life.
@claymontg7 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily so... We don't know the true intent an attacker means to do but the attacker is motivated by something? Perhaps just to intimidate to get what they want. If that something can be identified then possibly the attack could be defused than escalated. But if killing someone just for a good reason to help rid the population of attackers then cool. An example has to be made to deter others.
