Any owner of any 1911 having second thoughts about keeping it, thinking the gun is obsolete and leaving the platform for something "new" and "better" should view your presentations. Even a low end economy or Gi issue piece still is useful and these videos demonstrate what the series can be if willing to spend for the purchase.

I'll be retiring this year after a 46 year career as a full-time law enforcement officer, " a cop", 16 years of those as Chief of Police. This would be my retirement present to myself and I'm torn between the X-Tac Commander and the Vickers Commander in .45acp. I've also considered the Professional Wilson model, and was wondering if you've ever shot a Wilson Professional in .45 ACP? I would pass this down to my son, who is a full time police officer. Anyway, on to the 1911s, I like all of your choices, but I would go with the X-Tac Elite Commander in all Black and a Night-sight Front Sight. It looks fantastic and the Price is not terrible. I only own one nighthawk, that was new like two years ago. I have three Wilson Combats with one on the way, and three ACW with one more on the way. They are all very close as far as Quality unless you got a bad example. To be honest I have 2 Cabot 1911 Pistols and they seem just a little above these other Custom makers, but much more expensive. There is a difference in price with all of them, but I would not tell you to stay away from any of them. For Folks that want to spend less then $4,000 Check out Sbardella Arms and Half of the Les Baer 1911’s that are currently being offered. We have 10 LB 1911 pistols and they are great too for a 1979 Style Custom Made 1911 for about a $2,500 starting price. The Sbardella is like the Nighthawk and the Wilson Combat for about $2,800. Nice WC. I am 3 months in on a wait for my Hackathorn commander 9mm. Gotta disagree about Ed Brown vs Les Baer. The Browns are better in every way. Les cuts a lot corners.

We’ve never liked the Ed Browns we have handled and we’ve checked out quite a few. In our large experience with Custom 1911’s, the Les Baers are better. - YB

Just askin. How was your response from Wilson when you say you were bugging them about completion of your order? I’m waiting on an Experior I ordered first part of July and is about a month late from what they told me. And I’m starting to get irritated. Guns paid for and now they’re moving the goalposts on me.

Wilson’s current lead time is 12-18 months. So patience is key for sure. We ordered two pistols in May of 2021, they are supposed to be here in March or May 2022.
