We no longer recommend Cabot & Alchemy Weaponry Arms products. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. Buy at your own risk, we had numerous problems with guns not being put together properly, lots of QC Issues and ACW even lost one of our pistols at one point... They found the pistol 3 days later. This is the kind of "custom" shop they are running over there. If you want a real custom 1911 that is properly built, buy a Les Baer Custom, Sbardella Arms or Wilson Combat. - B9USA

Great review. I have the 5 inch Prime Elite and it shoots great. The only issue is I cannot use Wilson Combat magazines in mine. Both the ETM and Vickers mags hit the ejector and had to be ripped out of the gun. I called Rob and he told me that Wilson mags were problematic with fit issues in Alchemy guns. I use Tripp/Cobra Mec Gar mags, which Rob recommended; no problems with either of those manufacturers. I have a Nighthawk T3 I'm considering selling to get one of these.

My ACW is a couple small steps above the Nighthawk IMO, but I do love my one and only Nighthawk I own. I do not like all the stories I have read about Nighthawk nickel and dime their customers for sending pistols back or getting something small fixed, I think that part is BS. Alchemy and Cabot do not do this and provide excellent customer service. I Appreciate That Very Much, and I think you will too. Good to know about the different magazines. 🤠👍🇺🇸…. B9USA Sr.

Another fine .45. That's been on my radar, but gun funds are rather tight. I'm happy to hear about the good service from Gunslingers. I've been checking their website on a regular basis and I'm only 45 minutes from them, but everything they carry is still out of my price range. Thanks again for sharing this so I can experience fine guns vicariously.

That's gorgeous pistol I wish I could afford one and I still want a 1911 (45) definitely. I'm a lefty but I won't care I can learn to control the magazine release button on the left side of the piston.

The cost of the ACW Brimstone is worth every penny. It's performance in this video is truly remarkable. We used to borrow some old 1911s that shot accurately and seldom jammed. But these came from the shop of a local gunsmith. The meticulous hand fitting will be hard to duplicate since this gentleman passed away. Being able to buy guns like the ACW 1911s off the counter is a good opportunity.

Torn between a Dan Wesson V-Bob, this Prime compact. Is the Prime really $900 better and which one would you carry if you had a choice and why?

The prime is 100% better (Build Quality, fit and finish and fully hand built by Master Gunsmiths etc.) We’ve heard Dan Wesson Quality Control has fallen off in recent months, DW is also just a minor step above all the other production guns. They don’t touch a custom gun made by ACW, Cabot, Wilson or Les Baer. With ACW you get to order the pistol completely to your liking. You can even message Rob Schauland to ask for special requests, like a checkered trigger guard, melted edges etc. ACW has the best customer service we’ve ever experienced, Wilson Combat being a close second. We can’t recommend ACW enough. I have 4 more pistols on order, if that tells you anything. I’m a very picky person as far as details and fitment on 1911’s. ACW makes that’s best custom 1911’s on the market for the money. I am currently carrying a government size 10mm Les Baer, Beretta Sr. Was carrying the pistol in this video but has since switched over to carrying the Springfield Emissary 45. He bought that pistol from me and he’s carrying it with a Streamlight TLR-HL mounted on it. I plan to carry my ACW Prime Compact in Hard Chrome that should be arriving here soon in the Summer months. - YB

Have an update, I finally got my Brimstone on the 5th, my birthday of all days. Mine is the 865th 1911 that ACW produced. I didn’t get all the bells and whistles, just the HRT slide stop, but it shoots great nonetheless. A perfect 10.
