After I bought my HMR in 300wm, I had a few questions. I called Bergara, Here’s what I learned from a fellow reflecting a “So what?” attitude. Bergara claims “Remington pattern ” with their B14 series rifles. That applies only to the receiver . If you want to make changes, such as a 3rd party bottom metal, you can’t. Everything other than the receiver is proprietary to Bergara! The other source of confusion is “AICS Pattern” magazines. AICS “pattern” magazines is about the design, not the length. One might expect 300 Win Mag in an HMR “match” rifle, to have a match length magazine like the typical AICS 3.850. You would be wrong! The HMR uses Pmags regular AICS pattern Long Action magazine, which has a 3.53” max length. Depending on your intentions with a “Match” rifle, the short magazine could become a very severe handicap. And no. Bergara will not sell you a replacement bottom metal. Don’t drink the koolaid and do your homework before you buy!! I have no idea if they played word games with the short actions.

Wind variables at 200 yards are very minimal...
@Sparks00psn7 ай бұрын
@@BendingBallisticsdepends on the wind and bullet. With a 180gr Hornady interlock sp, g1 bc of 0.425, going 2960fps with a full value crosswind of 20mph will push the bullet 5.7” at 200yds. I wouldn’t call almost six inches minimal. But then again that’s pretty extreme wind.
@BendingBallistics7 ай бұрын
@Sparks00psn in extreme circumstances yes wind plays a variable, however in non extreme circumstances at 200 yards wind in minimal when it comes to shooting 200 yards typically bad fundamentals play a bigger role then the wind, proper breathing all the way down to a proper trigger squeeze. Most people practice bad fundamentals which leads to them not being an accurate shooter then blame the firearm vs their bad technique when in reality most modern rifles will out shoot the shooter the shooter just had poor or lacking fundamentals just my opinion
