The Bergara BA13 TD (take down) is made in Spain and is available in different calibers. I choose my rifle chambered for the 45/70 Gov. This rifle is perfect for hunting and target shooting and the 45-70 Goverment is the dream of every reloader. You can make a 45-70 Govt. shoot like a plinking round and you can reload it to a real bear hunting round. Further you can use black powder as well as smokeless powders. The Bergara ( CVA ) rifle comes with an 20" fluted barrel and a threaded muzzle so you can use a suppressor.

It's ready for a front grip, mounting one makes it a really really good carabin.

I have a CVA hunter in a 223 Remington and I just love that little rifle don't know much about the 4570 government

223 Remington will do the job in most cases and it's a lot cheaper than the 45-70 Gov....if you shoot a lot, the 223 Remington is the better caliber for sure ;-)

I love this great caliber !!! Bergara produce excellent barrels for their rifles, and for other brands(I know for the Winchester XPR and other rifles).

Did not know that Bergara makes barrels for Winchester too...thanks for this information buddy.

Thank you. I have the desire to play with a big-bore rifle, and the 45/70 seems like a good choice. I like straight-walled cartridge cases too. I have a .357 magnum which seems to be great... easy to reload (I prefer subsonic speed) and I've already had successful hunts with it. A .45 bullet is already 'pre-expanded' for hunting, so it is one of the better choices for someone like me who shoots a lot of slower projectiles. Waidmannsheil from New Zealand.

Great video. Thanks. That BA13 TD looks very interesting. I love those single shot rifles. I have a Blaser K95 in .22hornet, 6mm XC and 8x57IRS so this one is perhaps a bit to redundant for me. I have been drooling over a Marlin 1895 SBL in 45-70 gov however.

The Marlin was on my list as well...it's a nice gun. A customer bought the one I had here before I could make a vid about it. ;-) Beside this fact I choose the BA13 because I would like to use black powder in it and it should be much easier to clean a single shot rifle than the Marlin...I hope so.

That looks like a great rifle! I own a single shot break action and I have five different barrels for it. I don’t own any 45-70, but I’ve shot some before. It is a very capable cartridge!

I wish I can buy different barrels for this in future as well. At this moment the distributor here in Germany offers complete rifles only...maybe we can buy just barrels in future. It's a question of demand I think.

Even in Spain you can only find complete rifles. No idea when separate barrels would be available, or even if they will.

Marcus, what a lightweight fast handling rifle for Hunting, I know that Hunting is an endeavour that takes quite a bit of seriousness over in Germany, Licenses, and schools for marksmanship, field dressing and field craft. I don't know if over there you have magazine restrictions and calibre restrictions as well. Depends on the area, however, in the U, S, we have restrictions as well. anyway, You will have fun reloading for that beast, IMR 3031 seems to be a favourite most people like, The 45-70 is a widely reloaded cartridge and for rifles with different receiver strengths. Mainly the store bought run of the mill ammo is for the Trapdoor Springfield rifles, a very low-pressure action. a good book to have on the reloading bench is "Pet Loads" by Ken waters, there is extensive reloading information within that book as far as the 45-70 goes. Good shooting to ya, Dave.

Oh yes brother you're so right. Getting a permit to hunt is a tuff thing and it took month normaly...you can visit a compact cours as well but normaly it took a while and it's not very cheap. I will search for this book in my area. Thanks for this advice Dave. Stay safe and thanks again for watching my vids and leaving comments every time. Greetings Markus

I also cast and load for the 45-70, for a Marlin Lever. I use several powders in reloading the round, hope you get going well in your task.

Thanks a lot buddy. I already have some molds for the 458 bullet...if you cast your own bullets you can safe a lot of money specially in this caliber

Savings is so true, I cast from 340g to 500 and use both casting in the 45-70 and the 458 Socom, in an AR platform. Keep it up, certainly enjoy the videos you provide.

What a cool rifle! I've never shot a single shot rifle, or a .45-70 caliber rifle. I imagine it's recoil is as stout, as a 12 gauge shotgun slug. Those are very punishing, when I have fired them.
@wiederladerTv

Yes the recoil is very similar to a 12 gauge slug

Liked! Nice one, I wish we in firearms restricted countries [Nigeria] could have similar quality items to use. Single shots are not as heavily restricted, but one must meet a certain set of tough conditions. Ammo is also not easily available - so maybe a rifle like this in 7.62x39 [Which is more available] would be good. Your grip and stance control is exceptional! From 3:39 to 3:43, I actually thought it was a PICTURE! I was about to say I would expect at least an Extractor on a rifle for 600+ Euros - then you made the point about your brass never hitting the ground. But what if one is doing a lot of shots - will the pulling out of cases not burn one's fingers? Good job WiederladerTv!

Thanks a lot for your comment buddy. This rifle is available in 300 AAC BLK..I think from there it should be easy for an gunsmith to convert it into a single shot rifle for the 7.62x39. The brass is not that hot in 45-70 Gov. I shoot 10 rounds and the barrel was still not to hot to tuch. Stay safe buddy. Greetings Markus
