Very good video! I like it, that you deinterlaced the video so we can see it in its full Framerate glory! ;)

Or you downloaded the even bigger 1080p50 file which is huuuuuuuuuuuuuge! Thats why we got youtube! To stop all these pesky large video downloads and just streaming it! Thank you Mikko!

I downloaded the original 246 GB Apple ProRes 1080i50 file and compressed and deinterlaced it to this 1080p50 version. As far as I know there is no original 1080p50 file available from NRK. You can download this version with BitTorrent from blog.nytsoi.net/nrk-torrents :)

Lights on for safety! See and be seen! Also, long tunnels are boring in the dark.

Wonderful views. The quality of the film is excellent. Unfortunately, the big disadvantage of the film is driving in tunnels without lights turned on.

I disagree. I think that's cool. Tunnels are a part of the journey. ;-)

Dear Community, We are two travelers going to take a train from Bergen to Oslo. We are doing it in Xmas or mid-December this year. In booking our train tickets, we start to wonder which might be the best (i) time of the day and (ii) seats of the train for the train journey. For example, for time, there are two options: 08:08-15:05 vs. 11:49-19:05. For seats, we may choose to sit on the left or on the right. We would like to seek your recommendations, tips, or advices. Thank you very much, happy travel!

I don't live in Norway, but as a Finn my first thought is, do you want to see anything outside? The sunrise at that time of year is going to be around 9 and the sunset at around 15. This is for Oslo (www.timeanddate.com/sun/norway/oslo?month=12&year=2024), and the further up north you go, the less sun there will be. This means your first option would be much better if you want to see outside during your train ride. I cannot comment on the seats but this video will show you what's on which side of the train. :)

For those of you who came here because of Chris Rea and the (unofficial) video "Looking For The Summer", I have listed the clips used by filmsmusicru in that video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2nEZ55-hrNseKM Clip 1: 2:37:56 - 2:39:39 (between Finse and Haugastøl, right after the Kongsnut tunnel - I have been skiing in that area many times, so I know it well!) Clip 2: 3:54:09 - 3:54:30 (between Ål and Gol in Hallingdal) Clip 3: 49:24 - 49:54 (between Evang and Voss) Clip 4: 1:00:29 - 1:00:49 (also between Evang and Voss) Clip 5: 1:01:17 - 1:01:49 (same as above) Clip 6: 1:20:49 - 1:21:37 (between Voss and Myrdal, actually Ygre and Urdland, train arriving Myrdal at 1300 hrs) Clip 7: 4:12:10 - 4:12:45 (between Gol and Nesbyen in Hallingdal) All clips are a part of the same journey with Bergensbanen between Bergen and Oslo in Norway, on the 9th of October 2009. The Bergensbanen connects two of Norway's major cities, Oslo and Bergen, on a daily basis, all year round. The footage from the journey was recorded by NRK as a part of the 100th anniversary of the Bergensbanen.

@@therosijedha Well, the train arrives at Finse 2:28:45 and departs at 2:32:15. Then, at 2:37:45 it enters the Kongsnut tunnel. So, I guess something between 2:35:00 and 2:37:45 is what you are looking for?

light off in the tunnel, what irresponsibility
@bobmoseley4978 Жыл бұрын
I understand your concern, but I don't believe that they turned the lights off in the tunnels. My reason? It seems that they set the camera up for manual exposure so that the extremely bright sections where there was snow would be correctly exposed. If the camera had been set up for auto exposure, the train lights would have been seen in the tunnels but, when exiting the tunnels it would have been too bright (watch other cab rides to see what I mean). After leaving Drammen, the person doing the video changed the exposure and the train lights could be seen in the tunnels. Hope this helps.
