Goes past where I live every morning at 7:52am. My son runs out to look at the train and tell me how many cars it had and which livery they were painted in. Some are now in the "Nord" grey/blue livery and some still in the older red and grey style. He calls the red and grey ones "potato cans" instead of tomato cans :)

I've always wondered, when watching these videos in all seasons, what the HUGE industrial complex is at around the 6 hour 50 minute mark, right after the train leaves Mo i Rana. If anyone else has wondered, it's the Mo Industripark. From Wikipedia: "Mo Industripark is one of Norways largest industrial parks, situated in the town of Mo i Rana, North Norway. The company Mo Industrial Park produces oxygen, nitrogen and compressed air, and also provides security, telephone-switchboard and mail services to the other companies in the park. The companies engage in a wide range of activities, including iron and steel production, ferro alloy production, workshop industry, service industry, research, quality and computer technology, expertise industry, and even fish farming."

Apparently it is an anomaly of the camera video. The light looks some what yellowed in the video, yet the Norwegian Railway Rules specify a white light. After viewing the winter video in the early morning light, the light has a more white appearance, but the type of lamp must be emitting some yellow, thus giving the impression of a yellow lamp. So there ends the confusion. :)

I love this. Been fascinated with Norway ever since I went there on my honeymoon 16 years ago. This is a train ride I would LOVE to take some day. Any chance of uploading a higher bit-rate version of this series? I see a lot of jpeggies and detail reduction.

Or, like was done for the Bergensbanen video, make the ProRes Quicktime file available to download?

Any chance you can make the return trip videos ? from Bodo to Trondheim ? That would be neat to see it the other direction.

Nice video, just one question, why so many kilometers of rail is only one way rail ?
@Saalbahnhof6 жыл бұрын
There are simply not enough trains. There are only a few passenger trains. Many people do not live there. And the freight trains do not "pile up" in the stations. In Norway, almost all routes mostly one way rail.

If you want to build the 2nd track, the pickaxe and the shovel are at the back of the barn.

It would ever be so GREAT, if you would edit your train videos by shortening those tunnel moments or long waiting stops. IMAGINE that!!!!!
