It’s a great looking smooth bore. I’m having a hard time deciding between kibblers 58 caliber colonial or his fowler

Ive never seen a barrel that thin. I blacksmith so I know steel, I bet it has to be some high quality steel. Do you know what steel it was? And what load would you generally be putting in that. It's beautiful and I love the moon by the way.

I am trying between 60-70gr of FFFG. The gun was built for squirrel. At one time I had done a fair bit of bow hunting, So I am used to archery distances on deer. I think I could take deer at ranges out to 40 yards. I am determined to try in on turkey.

What was the intended use of this piece?

It was intended for squirrels. Specifically the ones that won't sit still.
