Same, Alex has mentioned in the past how realistic baits don't perform well. I tend to agree. However, the warmouth does pretty good in certain situations. With the gilly having multiple sizes and rigging options it may just work.

I bought these gillys few months back and honestly it’s the best purchase I made because I caught my pb definitely would recommend a nail weights for it to swim straighter. I’m truly impressed by this bait , it’s a must try in my opinion

The old top hook bluegill baits they sold at WalMart actually worked well. Came in 2 sizes and with an internally weighted hook, exposed out the top. Actually caught fish well.

I have the Javagill a JDM version I think they copied a bit and it fits fantastic on the large eye chatterbaits w no skirt they sell from Zman. They make them so they are sold w out a skirt and it’s just the blade and the hook. I forget the name of them, but they get slammed!!

I’m a father of four so I’m late to this game. How is the hook up ratio with the side hook presentation? Doesn’t seem like it would be that good but maybe not. Wonder if you can set it up as a line through? Anyways looks really cool.

The best way to rig that bait would to take a weedless wacky hook an nose hook it it will give it the best action. An there is a Japanese swim-bait that is the exact design of this bait made by Issei an called the "Gill set" and they are killer. I have a couple packs and was kinda mad that Berkley took that design but honestly I guess it will allow more people to buy it but thats the reason I use the gill set now is because not many people have em so idk how I feel lol.

Just got a shipment of 90 mm I am really disappointed ,I’ve tried 1/0,2/0 3/0 hooks, they don’t really seem to fit the 90 mm that well they also tear real easy, i’m thinking about returning them to tackle warehouse ,staying with Keitech

Man I’d love one of those in about a 2” for drop shot. All August and September I see Bass spitting up 1-1/2” - 2” Bluegill on the lake I fish most n Eastern Washington. I usually use a Yum kill shot to mimic those young of the year bluegills. Man do they munch those up too. I helped a buddy pre-fish for a tournament a couple years back and we hadn’t caught hardly any fish in about 6 hours of fishing & the ones we did catch were small and had no pattern we could duplicate. Then we went out to about 15-25 feet and I started sticking big ones on that yum kill shot. I ended up giving the rest of the bag to my buddy to use for the next day. He ended up winning that tournament and the next year’s tournament on that same lake using the same bait. We had the best luck on the clear colored one. But since all those Bass were spitting up little bluegills I know that Berkeley bait would slay em.
