I feel like if the Habs pick in the 5th to 8th overall range, a few elite forwards might be available for them. The reason of that is, there are really good dmen projected in the top 5, and most teams picking top 5 this year picked a forward at last year draft, so that might leave the door open for a Lidnstrom, Demidov, Eiserman or Catton to the Habs. The Habs need to go for the best forward available this year, the dmen core is already built for years to come for the Habs. Now its time to add ELITE talent to the top 6 of this team. Years after years the Habs lack scoring, Suzuki and Caufield are prety good but its missing a little something more to get more punch out front. PS. Catton looks pretty good, but for me i pick Lindstrom, Demidov or Eiserman before Catton. Catton is another small player, but he's skilled ! So I'd still be happy with him.
@s.b.32758 ай бұрын
Demidov is pretty much the same size as Catton. I think if a team is looking for a centre, Catton gets picked up pretty early. He's kind of a can't miss top 2 C with a well rounded game that could turn out to be a solid 1C in the future.

@bluechipprospect7 ай бұрын
@alexandregonet85287 ай бұрын
@bluechipprospect7 ай бұрын

My Opinion there are 6 forwards in the first round that will be Star/superstar players… Macklin Celebrini, Ivan Demidov, Trevor Connelly, Berkly Catton, Cayden Lindstrom…. I am not sold on Cole Eiserman he has an electric shot but his effort away from the puck worries me… I’m really praying the Habs draft Catton or Connelly, Trevor Connelly reminds me of Mathew Barzal and Berkly Catton Reminds me of Jack Hughes a dynamic First line playmaker with an accurate shot… Now I think Jack Hughes is and will be better than Catton but Berkly reminds me of Jack Hughes…. I’m writing this comment before watching the video but I always love your videos and now I will see what you think… Edit: Just finished the video and it was really well done I agree with most of it, But Marner has technically never hit 100 points lol I mean 99 is close enough and he’s on pace for 100 on the dot this season… Catton reminds me of Jack Hughes more than Marner in my opinion… I’m not gonna say for sure that Catton will be a 100 point player, But he has that potential especially if he goes to a team like Montreal that has a good development team along with a coach like Marty that has shown he’s amazing at getting players on the path to their potentials… Catton in my opinion will be an 80+ point player if he hits his potential and I really hope the Habs draft Catton or Connelly because I also believe Connelly has 80+ point potential and is probably one of the best skaters in the draft… Catton is ranked low because of his size and that’s good because he can fall to the Habs… Great video loved it and I hope to see a video on Connelly soon…

I used Marner because while Marner is a great skater he's not like Hughes who's a special skater. Also because Marner is excellent defensively which I think Catton has the potential to be also.

There's a chance but that chance gets slimmer by the day. The guy is tearing it up. If he keeps it at his current pace, he's going to finish with 115-120 points and over 50 goals. If that guy slips out the top 5 and fall to 7, there's a hockey god watching over us 😆

In terms of potential or play ? Cause in terms of play he's nothing like Will Smith. You could say closer to Benson but he's a much better skater and a better shooter. Benson is an elite competitor with elite hockey sense and both are amazing distributors. Pretty different imo. In terms of Potential and at the same time in his draft year, I preferred Will Smith over Benson and preferred Will Smith over Catton right now. But would I be surprised if Catton became the best player out of those 3 ? Not at all !

Sneaky release, he's got goal scoring potential. He definitely could be a top 5 talent, even a top 3. Low flash with high skill is more NHL transferrable then what a guy like Demidov is doing right now. Illusive, sneaky and low profile, just like Nick Suzuki but with better skating at 18.
@bluechipprospect8 ай бұрын
Yeah. He's really really good. Every game I watch I come out of it impressed by his overall game and by how much he can accomplish on his own. I still have Demidov higher because the puck skills are in my opinion even higher than Catton but I get where you're coming from. One thing that I keep in the back of my mind when I watch Demidov is that half the teams in the MHL are in freaking Siberia lol . Obviously a slight exaggeration but the talent is so diluted that I have no problem with Demidov testing his limits since he's stuck in a league that he doesn't belong to. Might as well test how fast your skills can take you.
@s.b.32758 ай бұрын
@@bluechipprospect Demidov is definitely #2 worthy but probably gonna drop because of Russian factor. Catton is definitely second best pure centre of the draft and the fact that he is solid two way contributor is gonna put him probably top 5. Most teams drafting in the top 5 are gonna be looking at him once Celebrini is off the boards. Anaheim is my only exception, but I could see either one of Columbus, Chicago, San Jose, Ottawa or Montreal going for Catton between picks 3 and 6. I have a hard time seeing him drop to 10-13 like some have placed him. That's way too low for a guy that could be the second best centre of is draft year. I like Buium, Parekh, who in my opinion is very underrated defensively, he knows when to and when not to and the other top 10 pick I like is Lindstrom, but don't see him as a centre and his playmaking ability is kinda meh but lots of upside as a goal scorer. Eiserman is definitely a can't miss elite shooter and Silayev has the size and skating ability to be a solid top 4 shutdown D but I think both might drop, one because of his nationality and the other because there's a bunch of more polished offensive studs in Demidov, Catton and Lindstrom.
