I remember his father...he was a music teacher at my junior high school way back in the 60s...also a violinist...good teacher and a nice guy too

Yes, indeed! You'll find 2 postings with Hirshhorn from this same documentary on KZbin. The documentary was broadcasted some years ago just upfront the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. The title was "The winners" and 4 former winners were interviewed and talked about their life after the competition.

I studied with Mr. Senofsky as well. I still remember him sitting in front of his piano in his third floor corner room studio.What a dear memory.

There's no such thing as "Gluck's Melodie" (nor "Bach's Aria", for that matter) : it's a violin arrangement by Fritz Kreisler of Christoph Willibald von Gluck's "Ballet des Ombres heureuses" (Dance of Blessed Spirits) a flute+string orchestra pantomime in the 2d act of his opera "Orfeo ed Euridice" (Paris version).
