i got my R24 since a week i really didn't see something like it when it comes to analoge sequencing and i can maybe 5 % what the mashine is usually capable of. i'll keep it forever!!!!

What a very 'busy' looking studio, there looks like many new items, I could't keep up with the on-screen notifications, and that sequencer sounds great, really like that pluck sound, top track and great video again Rob, well done.
@VolcaRock7 жыл бұрын
thank you very much my friend. studio looks more, because the last year you have only seen parts of my studio in the videos ;-) the truth is, iot is less then a year ago. I sold a lot of stuff, all my rack synths like Doepfer MS404, Waldorf Pulse 1, Waldorf Microwave 1, a lot of Stompboxes. Only the GRP R24 is new and some stompboxes.

Hi Rob, mein Laptop war in der Reperatur! War mal eine Zwangspause im Internet! Hast Dich ja gut eingerichtet im neuen Heim! Und der Synthpark wächst und wächst. ;-) Sehr geiler Sound! Hammersequenzen. Schön, dass Du wieder da bist! Beste Grüsse Ihr zwei!
@VolcaRock7 жыл бұрын

New workspace! Very cool jam. And the MS-20 got some play time too ;-) I like both parts of this jam very much! And how awesome does that new sequencer look?! Wow!
@VolcaRock7 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot my friend. With your latest Ambient Series you remembered me to use the MS-20 again :-) I bought a used Doepfer Dark Time to test those kind of analog sequencers. And after 2 days I knew I need the GRP. It's the perfect counterpart to my Matrix SEQ. We moved to the inner city of Dresden, this is the reason for the new workspace :-)
@ArrayzableMusic7 жыл бұрын
I thought you already lived in inner city. I hope you still have enough room for your gear :-)

Great track, love your live playing!! Impressed with your quick mastering of the R24..I know its limitless potential, as I'm another proud owner. My top request to Paolo: scaling, improved visual display, activation of the USB port. How are the coloured switch covers you use called, would like to get some too, as I need more intuitive identification of the tightly packed switches. Ps your set-up makes me rethink how I use effects. Got a lot of analog gear, but most of my effects are in Ableton..perhaps should go back to the "old way". Thanks for the inspiration!
@VolcaRock6 жыл бұрын
hallo jeroen, thanks a lot for feedback. GRP is lovely. I personally miss scaling most at the moment. i really hope this will come soon. i love to work with real hardware, so all of my fx are stompboxes on my pedalboard and some are in the rack. the minicaps I bought are these: www.ebay.de/itm/20-Kappen-fur-Mini-Kippschalter-div-Farben-Abdeckkappe-fur-Kippschalter-/381906526617?hash=item58eb672199
@dubaidutch80256 жыл бұрын
Noticed you're meta sequencing your GRP with the seq 12 matrix sequencer - that's a level of sophistication for my bucket list. The minicams are more doable - and way cheaper then the seq 12 - they don't ship in Switzerland, but the link pointed to other suppliers who do. Thanks for the tip and even more for your great music and inspiration to the music differently.
@AlbaEcstasy7 жыл бұрын
Nice video! How is the GRP seq? It reminds my of Doepfer Dark TIme, where setting up a seq line is a nightmare, because you don't have any visual aid on seeing what note per step you have on the knob. Does the display on the GRP show the note per step?
@VolcaRock7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. The GRP is the most versatile analog sequencer I know. Sadly it has no visual Feedback on the Display. I always use a second synth for finding the correct note. And on the Odyssey there is a Guitar tuner on the second output. Would be cool to get a software update with that feature. The other thing I miss is the possibility for scales. Waiting also for an update. But in all other things it is amazing, especially the ratchet und repeat note functions. And also the time division per row

Beautiful. New machine.. you got a lot now ! No more space around your sofa ? Or maybe you've changed your home.
@VolcaRock7 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! You have seen it correctly. We moved to another home, this is why I had to make the live stuff in the office room, where all my instruments fit.Sofa sessions only with guitar and small setup :-)
@cinemalulli7 жыл бұрын
no more octatrack? anyway, GRP seq is one of the best seq. i know Paolo Groppioni quite well
@VolcaRock7 жыл бұрын
hehe correct, normally I use the Octatrack as my 8 track recorder, but this time I recorded live to only 1 stereo track (no need for octa). On the octatrack is a half finished track waiting to get ready. And I totally agree with the R24, the best analog sequencer I have ever seen. I only miss one thing: the possibility to play in scales (at least some simple ones like major, minor, lydian) Maybe you can ask Paolo, if this would be possible on future upgrades :-)
