It's amazing how often the "tactical" products are also just... practical. I loved 5.11 Tactical pants when my daughter was little, not because I need to carry extra magazines of ammunition, but because the mag pockets fit bottles and my daughter's bunny stuffy really easily. The big, expandable cargo pockets fit spare diapers, no problem. I could leave the diaper bag at home with all the pockets. The material is really well made for climbing and playing outside. Best dad pants around.

@@pastaalalamborghini considering most straps are £5-10 and you can get a waterproof leyzene bag for £5 or so, £30 is a lot for something as simple as a a little tool wrap (maybe I'm just tight) but its not really comparable, much better in use, much easier and more secure and the straps long enough to use to hold down other things (rolled up my coat recently and strapped that into the frame along with the tool pouch as I didn't have room in my small bag)

@@MTBstuart I've gone thru 4-5 wraps over the years and settled on the dakine wrap a couple years ago because everything else I ran fell apart in one way or another after a season or two. Decent wraps seem to be about $20-$50 USD. When my dakine fails on me someday or Im able to afford a second bike, peatys it is. Cheap stuff is usually garbage, really expensive stuff is usually garbage, it's all about finding that point of diminishing returns where quality and price balance for the application.

@BermPeakExpress
@BermPeakExpress Жыл бұрын
This is an interesting question I should probably address in more detail. It’s $200 per month, unless you want a dedicated office. Visit Bentonville paid for my one month membership as I requested a place to work during the trip. Anything I’m paid to do (like promote Bentonville in the first video) I’ll always disclose, by law and for transparency. I haven’t had a bike or component sponsor since Diamondback dropped me over a year ago, and Visit Bentonville has been my only sponsor on either channel since then. I don’t intend on getting an ongoing sponsor in the bike industry, as I prefer the freedom to review and feature whatever I want without conflict. However I’m SUPER biased. I have friends in the bike industry, I’ve ridden with people who work for various companies and even bunked with them on trips. Even the Peaty’s wrap-I’m not gonna bash Steve Peat’s product even though I don’t know him personally. More likely I would choose not to review it if I didn’t like it. In short, I stand to gain nothing monetarily by saying good things about any of this stuff, however I would feel really bad if I hurt someone in the bike industry by bashing a product they worked on, so I have to be really pissed and feel personally insulted to do that. But Ledger? That was a last second decision because there was so much cool stuff to show, and so I asked permission to shoot there.

I use that chin mount for my motorcycle helmet to act as a dash cam since I commute on my bikes. I love that it's specific to your helmet cause the generic go pro sticky mounts don't always fully engage that adhesive to your helmet thanks to all the funny curves. I will say that the original adhesion is absolutely critical, mine fell off on the highway like a week in to using it, but I bought a leash that also adheres to your helmet so that saved it from an 80mph tumble. Personally, I super glued it back on and it's been holding for like 3 years of riding... Probably 50k miles or more so I think you'll be golden on a mtb helmet. Quick note, mine also mounts at the perfect angle for recording. Not sure if that's a design feature or a coincidence but I like it.

Most of them also come with these little nubs that go in between the zippers. So you’re not gonna be fumbling to unzip and draw. Especially with practice. The biggest advantage of the Fanny pack is it clips around your waist. Just carry it on your person as you ride. They’re usually more discreet too. Even more so when you’re walking around with your helmet. Just look like a cyclist.

12:55 "you can ride your bike to the top of this building" Yes!!!!! This is so sick. Or at least it's a start. Lately I've been obsessed with this idea I have that tall buildings should have "hikeable" exteriors with landscaping. I love certain kinds of brutalist architecture (specifically, angular and sloping brutalist architecture that makes me want to climb it, not the big plain concrete box type.) I want to be able to hike up a skyscraper and have views and vibes similar to hiking the mist trail to vernal falls.

I had a run in with a bear while I was out biking in capitol forest in Washington. I was really scared and didn't go back because I didn't know how I could carry a gun while riding a bike. Glad to know they made something like that bag.

I like my halo bolt-on skewers for my qr bikes. One of my mountain bikes is absolutely wicked, but I crashed a couple times because the qr handle would get stuck or opened when running into foliage at irresponsible speeds. Bolt-on skewers are a must in my opinion.

Getting Darth Kermit vibes from the blind water filter review 😂On a more serious note, get yourself a viscoset from your buddies down at Cane Creek for the Big Dummy. Helps with speed wobble, but I like it best for providing a little bit extra resistance to keep the wheel straight when you've got it on the kickstand, or as seen at 7:00 when the front wheel starts flopping on you.
