"Straight up ankle in this establishment!" This was such a joy to watch. Loved seeing the work you put behind the scenes, from putting together an outfit using references to showing us a little bit on how you created the OnlyFans page. And I know this was about the ankles but I just loved seeing the shoes displayed so lovely in different angles, and the colour palettes you chose. Makes me want to pick up drawing tools and do some colour and composition studies! Also thank you for talking about the ankle myth and how it probably originated, and for not making this experiment a joke about people like sex workers who rely on this site as their main source of income, that was very appreciated.

Holy Moses I can't even pick a favorite part. The entire premise? The juxtaposition of historical costuming with a drone for the overhead shots (brilliant btw)? I wonder if the "allure" is something akin to burlesque, or the line from Memoires of a Geisha where she talks about "accidentally" showing a wrist while pouring tea. The exciting bit isn't the exposed body part (a burlesque dancer taking off a glove while the whole audience sits there bare-handed), so much as it is that the viewer isn't "supposed" to see it, making it "forbidden."

I still find myself more aroused at the thought of a modestly dressed woman revealing herself to me than a more exposed woman exposing herself further to me. i think the whole 'ankle' thing has to do with the perceived intimacy about seeing something that's normally covered. I'm normally covered basically from neck to ankle (not a religious thing, I just own mostly full-length clothing) and I've got comments before on the occasions I'm not, (like the recent heatwave, when I was showing my *gasp* knees) similar to how romance books &c often comment on the 'exposed midrif' where a persons shirt rides up. stomachs arent inherently sexy, but in the circumstance it could be. on a related note, there's a similar odd intimacy seeing bernadette with her hair down. since it's usually pinned up, seeing it loose feels like I'm intruding on a personal moment (not in a sexual way, just feels weirdly personal)

True. I usually wear long sleeves and trousers during the day because I burn very easily and its more convenient than constantly reapplying sunscreen whenever I want to be outside. If I'm out after dark or if I'm hanging out inside for an extended period of time I'll sometimes ditch the long sleeves if I have a T-shirt with me or roll the sleeves up. I actually refused to do either for a long time when I was younger because anytime I did I would catch someone either staring or doing everything in their power not to look at my arms. It always made me super uncomfortable until I realized it didn't happen with strangers and it was just because people who've known me for awhile never expect me to do it

I believe that the closest thing to Victorian men getting weak about ankles was actually the Geisha in Japan. The would show their wrists sometimes when they poured tea because it was very charming and elegant as they were artists. Men would get excited for this too

I think you're probably right. In Agatha Christie's autobiography, she talks about how her Victorian grandmother taught her 'the Queen of Spain has no legs' and to say 'limbs' instead. Even decades later Agatha was a pretty proper person, but she wrote that even as a child she thought the obsession with avoiding legs was nonsensical. One of the few Victorian rules I have yet to find a reasonable explanation for. 🤷‍♀️
