Whenever I see a show or movie set in the Tudor period and the women are wearing the French hood like a stupid little headband crown thing with their ears exposed and with no veil I can’t watch it. My biggest pet peeve

Using your image without consent = bad. Claiming your "reproduction" is original = also bad.

Be precise, everyone in “Europe” was dirty and smelly. Thats why you invented perfumes to disguise your stench. Black plagues started in euro zone, not asia.

It was a popular work for women as if they have their legs in the right place they could masturbate while working the wheel. Or so my great grandma told me when she was drunk.

Honestly the website was so fustrating for me, that I gave up on traditional math and just curled a peice of paper and cut the excess away.

Imagine the horror of being the average 19th century man, and a women is RIDING A BIKE. Not only is she riding a bike, but she has not one leg tube, but two!!!! One day you’re riding your bike minding your own business and you crash into a horse carriage because of this rebellious, and satanic behavior. This is truly the beginning of the downfall of western society!

I thought the first little thing in she's sewing on downton Abbey was her testing the machine. The whole thing is that the machine is quite a new thing and they just set it up, I interpreted that as her testing if the tension is okay etc before actually sewing something.

I so appreciate how you cite your sources within the video AND you label your photos/artwork as they come up. This is an incredible documentary! You really covered all of my questions. It was very nice to hear from the Indian atelier and understand who was actually performing the labor.

You should do a piece on the cheapest and least labor intensive cloths from this era. Because if cost and ethics are a concern, the cheapest and most cost effective, regardless of the aesthetics, would make our choices today regarding low/midrange mass production more clear.

I'm 20. I grew up with my grandpa. When I was 13 I found my late grandma's (who passed away before I was born) singer machine in the garage. I fell in love with it. And brought it in cleaned it and asked my neighbor granny to teach me how to use it. When my grandpa got back home he teared up. Gave me some of his pants to fix 😂 So the machine became mine since then. And yesterday I found another singer machine in a vintage shop. So I asked the owner old man If I could check if it was still working. He nonchalantly nodded. And thanks to my muscle memory I could thread it with no hesitation. The old man was in disbelief! He said how can a young girl like you even know how to use it. He insisted on giving it to me as a gift 😂 But I already have mine at home so I hope the machine find it's own owner one day.
