PayPal donations: hanzagod@mail.com
Bernard Hopkins - Is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1988 to 2016. He is one of the most successful boxers of the past three decades, having held multiple world championships in two weight classes, including the undisputed middleweight title from 2001 to 2005, and the lineal light heavyweight title from 2011 to 2012. Hopkins first became a world champion by winning the IBF middleweight title in 1995. He would go on to compile 19 defenses against 17 opponents; a division record at the time.

One of the greatest Middleweights in boxing history! Bernard Hopkins was a fantastic fighter both in and out of his prime. His longevity is unmatched and a large part of that has to do with his phenomenal Boxing IQ and skills however I wanted to focus on his prime because it's easy to forget how great he was at 160 lbs as his career spanned nearly 30 years. The Executioner at his best! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod

Hopkins was a great boxer. He had a good footwork and defense. The first boxer in history to become a world champion in 4 major versions, as well as according to the Ring magazine. Three times the oldest world champion in history, who won the title according to one of the main versions at the age of 46, 47 and 49. At the age of 49, he combined two championship titles. Fire as always, Nza🥊👊

That's a common misconception about him starting boxing in prison and having no amateur career as he had a 95-4 amateur record before being imprisoned. He also won the Pennsylvania Junior Olympics when he was nine years old. You can check the source on a boxing insider article called "Bernard Hopkins: Ring Genius Misunderstood (2003)"

Roy was flashier and had more natural athletic ability. Floyd navigated his career more skillfully. But B-Hop's insane longevity and resurgence after people had written him off (around the time of the Pavlik fight) makes him the greater legend in my mind. Also, look at the length of his title run. To stay in place and defend is more impressive to me that having one or two fights at various weights to belt-poach.

Seeing the clips with Antwun Echols reminded me of how in their second fight, Echols picked Hopkins up off his feet and dropped B-Hop onto the canvas, dislocating his shoulder. Hopkins then fought one-handed for at least several rounds - and still completely dominated Echols. A matchup with James Toney anywhere from 160 to 175 would have been a masterclass in boxing genius.

After watching this video, what really stood out to me the most was B Hop's underrated head movement and hand speed. He was so good at rolling and slipping punches in a subtle manner, making him in prime position to counter back right away. And he knew when to throw flurries and when to exit an exchange, a very underappreciated aspect of boxing. He was in the pocket just long enough to hurt his opponents but short enough to prevent them from firing back deadly counters

@@NotaRickRoll515 I agree. He is good I don't he is overrated. Canelo is a great fighter but I agree his fanbase is toxic and overrate him, make him seem invisible but he has the respect amongst even hard-core boxing fans like us. Those guys you mentioned I would pick to beat Canelo fore sure but I still would have loved to have seen it, wouldn't you? They would have been great fights with some great exchanges. Lot of ego and pride alongside world class skills, those are the recipes for legendary fights in my opinion.

B-Hop was an anomaly in Boxing. he peaked in the sport at an age where most boxers retire and he kept going till in his 50’s, even at his advanced age fighting guys 10, 15 years or so younger than him, he never lost a step, his slick movement, his defensive, his footwork, his attack, was all still as fast in his 50’s as he was when he was in his 30’s and younger. i loved watching B-Hop fights growing up he is in my Top 5 favourite fighters of all time.
