Bernard Hopkins v Felix Trinidad

A tournament was organised by Don King to reunify the middleweight title that had been fragmented since Marvin Hagler. The final of the tournament was between Bernard Hopkins, long reigning middlewieght champion who had already defended his version of the title 12 times and was loking to overtake Carlos Monzon for record defenses. The other finalist was welterweight superstar Felix Trinidad who had beaten everyone at welterweight including a superfight with Oscar De La Hoya.
