I like how Danaher clearly explains the original aim of Jiu-Jitsu: self defense and fighting. In that case you want position then submission. Take strikes out, then position is not always before submission.

Instead of position, he specifically states its control before submission for sub grappling. His 6 submission systems all teach the 6 major control points that lead to the 6 most succesful submissions.

@@4m4z1n-grace8 look at Danaher's enter the system. Heel Hook, RNC, guillotine & arm triangle variations, kimura, triangle, armbar. These 6 have strong control positions before going for the sub. Much easier to sub when you can control the opponent's movement.

I have to say this technique is legit I was rolling today, my partner actually tapped with just this maneuver I didn’t even have to follow up with any other submission. I was going to set up an arm triangle but once I started putting pressure got the tap without it.

Danaher is basically teaching Catch wrestling seminar here. We've gone a full circle now. Jiu-jitsu mindset for striking + gi. Catch wrestling for no-striking + no-gi.

I've been using the same system for the past 20+ years. Simple and effective against everybody. Except instead of this Chest Block, I use a Catch wrestling Jaw Lock to create panic reactions and capture the arm. The rest is 1-to-1 the same.
