I had the b05. Gave to friend. upgraded b38. B38 is a very nice machine. Portable, compact. Metal skeleton - torque twist Access to everything - tensions, length - width, feed dogs, balance Abundance of deco stitch 300+ Features - thread cut, up down, tie off. But now i want more - knee lift, walk foot B77 has that plus 500 deco stitches. And now "only" $999.99. was $2,000. Thinking about it. 🤺💐

I have the Burnett be 77. I love it. Have had it for about a year now. It is fast, sews threw most anything. A real hard working machine. Quilts very nice to.

I had a Bernette 334DS serger that lasted me almost 30 years, loved it. Your daughter is likely ready for a machine--I remember my home ec teacher mother teaching me to sew on a machine when I was nine and you're a gifted teacher so she'll probably do really well.

My very first new-to-me machine was a Bernette B37 and I LOVED it!! It's the cheapest electronic Bernette. It sewed beautifully and I made several quilts with it before upgrading.

Ahhh! The B38 is the exact machine I have. I bought it a few years ago when I got obsessed with learning how to sew - side note: not sure how much I’ve learned yet 😂 - and I’ve barely scratched the surface of what it can do. I am so excited to see what you do with this and so happy I bought from a company that is this awesome. Excited for you and this partnership! I have to go finish watching before I can think of names …

Thank you for this suggestion. I bought a BabyLock Allegro in February because quilting is my main jam. I absolutely cannot bond with it, problem after problem. I've decided I want the Bernette b79. I was excited because my dealer carries it and told me they accept trade ins for a more expensive machine within 6 months. I just went through their website to see how much it was gonna cost me for not saving the box, $200. But they also state that when trading in the NEW MACHINE will be sold at MSRP, which is $700 more than what they sell it for regularly. UGH!!!!!

I bought a Bernina in 1985. It's a Record 930 and still sews just as great as it did when it was new. Bernina/Bernette is a wonderful machine.

Everything seems so exciting when you’re explaining it. I lost got into wanting to make my own clothes, and I noticed a few times when straight guys ask questions they preface it with their orientation.🥴 Anyhow I haven’t bought my first machine yet… so I’m finding places to get info about what I need and the machine I’ll need to buy to not over buy or under buy in features while getting a reliable and maintainable machine (run on sentence 😮‍💨).

The newer !I e of Bernette machines seem very well made, For names, Pat for the mechanical and Robin for the comuuterized. Both are free from gender.

I've been quilting since about 2002, and I never picked up on the gatekeeper aspect of it, and I'm sorry you have been affected by that. I guess, like any craft, people can get very opinionated and judgmental. Love Bernina! They can be pricey but I bought a second-hand machine and it's awesome!
