Matthew I love making these !! I have used left over fabric from mens shirts, that I made a memory pillow from and make a ball to go to the family as a gift from me from the shirt fabric. I will add in a coordinating fabic to use with the fabric from the shirt. I also made some for a friend from her mother, grandmother and great grandmothers aprons. One was very thin and wouldn't even hold pin head. I ironed on a light weight fusable and tada!!! worked like a charm I so enjoy watching you and gathering inspiration. Your sweet enthusiasm brings a smile to my heart.

That’s so sweet. You’re doing amazing and that’s a beautiful idea. I love the story behind the fabric!
@mimic11766 күн бұрын
I made one of those in my quilt back in the late '70s/early '80s! It's red/green/white so it goes on our tree every year, but I had no idea how to made it after all this time. Now I know! I may have to invest in some pins and Styrofoam balls! Fabric I have. :D I got here by watching your Scandinavian star video (which I want to make). Thank you for another easy to follow video resulting in such a gorgeous ornament. I know what I'm making as gifts for next year! New sub so I don't miss anything else!
@m0ther0ne4 күн бұрын
Beautiful. ❤ I have made a few of these. One tip I suggest you take is to buy twice as many pins than you think you’d need, you will use hundreds of pins.
@sandramyer70817 күн бұрын
I have trouble( me - not you) remembering those inches to cut the fabric-is it 3 inches and 1and half inches? Sorry! I love you're instructions❤
@MxDomestic7 күн бұрын
The fabric is first cut 3" strips. Then fold and press length-wise so it looks like the fabric is 1.5" because it's folded but it's still 3". Then subcut that longer into 3" sections, which will look like 1.5" x 3" pieces because it's folded, but it's really 3" squares. Does that make sense?

These are gorgeous! One question though, is there any chance of the pins falling out or are they stuck in there good? I have no experience with these so I was just wondering

Love your ornaments!! I tried them but they didn't turn out as nice as yours and my fingers were so sore from the pins!
@celestesuter11487 күн бұрын
The pins can make fingers sore. I use a metal thimble to help me push the pins in. You can also get leather thimbles to do this. Hope that works for you!
@MxDomestic7 күн бұрын
It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it. You'll get there! And if you haven't tried or heard of thimble pads, they're a finger saver and I carry them in my shop: mxdomestic.myshopify.com/products/thimble-pad-leather
@beadzqueen72197 күн бұрын
I saw someone using a tube of chapstick (top) to push the pins in. Easy fix for your fingers!
