The Benson & Hedges International Open At Fulford Golf Club (York) ... Can't believe it was 40 Years Ago, And The Fact That Bernhard Is Still Playing Competitive Golf. The Guy Is A Legend!

I often play at Fulford - the tree has a richer legacy than Langer.

Love it! I played in a pro-am with Langer recently and he is the most gracious and friendly gent ever. At age 66 he can still smash the ball, but I think he’d take the unplayable now. 😊

I actually caddied in that 3 ball for Jose Maria Canizares as a 16 year old. Awesome experience ! 12 years later i caddied for Langer at El Saler , Valencia in a ET event (pro-am) as Pete Coleman was ill. Langer shot 64 won the pro-am, and what a gent!

Unfortunately he was so exhausted from climbing that he missed the par put, but this is a memorable piece of Golf history. Langer is a living Legend. Best Senior/Champions Tour Player of all time.

With Bernhards attention to detail, he would have known the Air temperature would be slightly colder at that level and would have factured that into the shot....😂⛳🌲

So this is where Garcia took his inspiration.

Typical weird sort of mass shrieking from the crowd when the ball stays in the tree. I've never understood why they do that.
@bryankirschner9650 Жыл бұрын
They just laugh.....
@ysgol3 Жыл бұрын
@@bryankirschner9650 Hi, I'm not sure - listen to a crowd or audience laugh and it doesn't sound the same - it's more like some sort of mindless upbeat whine - if there is such a thing - I think. I remember Peter Alliss hilariously expressing his bafflement about the noise years ago when commentating.

It was an unusual event just like a pigeon landing on court at Wimbledon. They just laughed, I heard no no shrieking
