Thanks Joe, all your videos are a big help. You take the frustration out of these issues. I like how you explain how to fix things, but also why things go wrong. Thumbs up!

You are super good at explaining these things, thank you! Can you tell me why my 830 makes a thudding noise when it reaches the left side when being parked.

Thank you. I've had this problem with my 730 and couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. Please make more videos. I have learned so much of how to take care of my machine and how the machine works. I also have an Artista 165 which I love. My needle threader has broken on it. Can you demonstrate how it is repaired?

I am looking to buy one of these secondhand. Is this the only trouble folks have run into? I’m a fairly new sore but I am intrigued by the quality of the Bernina.

The 830 and 820 are models I would not recommend getting. The 820 is a 830 just minus the ability to connect a embroidery module to it. Being that these were the first long arm machines made by Bernina they are plagued with lots of problems. Kind of like buying new model car that is a completely new design. The bugs have not yet been worked out.The auto needle threader mechanism is a big problem area and the bobbin mechanism can be a problem at times. I serviced and sold about 10 of the 830 models and each one had its share of problems that I had to fix before they were sold. Let’s put it this way, a couple of years after the 830 / 820 were out Bernina came out with the 7 series machine with a completely redesigned bobbin system that is MUCH better than the problem plagued hook system that’s in the 820/830 models. Problems with these models was one of several reasons why I got out of the business of reconditioning and selling nice used Berninas. That was about 4 years ago.

While sewing spoon of thread Apparates in window and machine stop
@JoeKind19585 жыл бұрын
I think you meant to say “spool” of thread, it shows on the screen and the machine stops. Assuming that your thread did not brake, that i think is the top thread brake sensors stopping the machine. Most likely cause of this is lint buildup. It covers the electronic eyes then the machine thinks that the thread has broken and the machine stops. I think there are some videos made by other people that show you how to blow out the lint. After selling and repairing Berninas for over 18 years, I have taken a brake. So right now I do not have a 830 so I can make a video and show you what to do.
