Hervorragende Performance! Tolle Musik! Ich hätte mir einen längeren Schlussakkord mit mehr Power gewünscht. Auch waren es mir hier und da ein paar Dämpferstellen zu viel. Das ist aber natürlich alles Geschmacksache.

Ja, der Einsatz von Dämpfern ist in jedem Fall Geschmackssache... zum Schluss: Eric Crees hat sich ja entschieden, nicht den leisen, "ersterbenden" Originalschluss zu wählen, was ich eine interessante Variante für eine konzertante Aufführung finde. Aber der Schlussakkord soll natürlich nicht triumphierend oder dergleichen wirken sondern immer noch zur West Side Story Bezug haben und deshalb die Dissonanzen und das nicht zu lange Halten (und scheinbar abrupte Abbrechen) des Akkordes, so dass es etwas verstörend wirkt...

There ia an album called In Residence with the European Brass Ensemble which also includes some Prokoviev, Wagner, and Bizet arrangements.

@@PepperJack291 This really well done arrangement for brass ensemble and percussion was published by "Just Music" with the catalogue number JM49540. Numerous specialist retailers offer the score with or without parts for purchase from their stock.

​@@PepperJack291My guess is if it is available, it would be for hire only. As Bernstein's music is still in copyright, I would imagine Eric Crees would have had to get special permission to make the arrangement (which he made for London Symphony Orchestra Brass back in the 80s, I think).
