Absolutely PERFECT close up and simply explained tutorial! Thankyou for giving us the intricate details whilst keeping it short and to the point. I feel much happier now, I didn't think I'd ever be able to do this, I was gonna forever cheat with whip stitch on the inside! 😂 but now I'm feeling much more confident!

Best tutorial on the mattress stitch that I have found. Thank you SO much! You made it so very clear, which made it infinitely easier. MUCH appreciated!

Thank you. I have looked at tons of mattress stitch videos. Have never seen one as good as yours. You use a light color of yarn making it much easier to see. You show beginning of process and ending on sample. I've seen tons that start in middle of project and they don't end it leaving newbies to mattress stitch in the dark. The video is nice and clear to see what you are doing. Just wonderful!

This is amazing! I had never heard of the mattress stitch until a new patterns suggested it as a finishing technique. I'm so happy to have found your video. That blue yarn disappeared like magic, without a trace.

When I did my plastic surgery rotation I spent HOURS learning the mattress stitch. I told these massively egotistical plastic surgeons that there was nothing they did that every person who knits, crochets, and embroiders knows how to do. I said “Our stitches must be perfect in knitting. If you screw up the body heals itself." Oh I was REALLY popular. The only woman and I laughed at them! Seriously every crafter I know is just as skilled or MORE than these dudes that make millions each year. They sure hated getting laughed at. I took in Hawai’ian quilts, tapestry, a knitted pantsuit with a pattern of 15 lines! (Not me--another person!) Back in the 1950s and early 1960s the old time surgeons used to sit in the hallway and “tat.” It kept their fingers nimble especially when arthritis started setting in. Be PROUD about your craft!
