@Ultimatereloader - Great video. I have a significant problem with the original Mr. Bulletfeeder running on a Dillon RL1100 reloading 5.56mm. When loading 55gr projectiles, the light projectiles frequently get “stuck” at the top of the bullet dropper where the feeder spring joins the bullet dropper mechanism because the spring is angled (due to limited placement options for the Mr. Bulletfeeder). I tried “taping off” the spring to keep the spring vertical with respect to the bullet dropper but that weighs down the dropper and then it ceases to cycle up and down as needed to drop bullets. A vicious circle - either keep the feeder spring vertical (which weighs down the whole mechanism) or leave the spring as is (angled) and watch the bullets get jammed at the top of the feeder mechanism. I don’t see any video where you load 5.56 mm (or .223) using a Dillon RL1100 AND a Mr Bulletfeeder. Maybe the problem described above is why? I’d love to see this issue addressed on your channel. Thank you.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that you don't have to swage the primer pockets, which is the obvious shortfall of almost all presses, and the ones that have it (like the Mark 7 APEXes) absolutely suck donkey swingers. But we'll see if I'm wrong.
@FMDad-dm5qo5 ай бұрын
That was specifically what I was curious about here
@beltfedTODDRULZ4 ай бұрын
any progressive press isn't going to magically turn clean rifle cases with crimped primer pockets into loaded ammo in one pass. the 1100 can swage pockets but the cases need to be trimmed or at least sorted and trim the long ones back into spec. Also you need to lube cases to resize them and you don't want that lube gunking up your powder funnel and contaminating your powder charge. So, on a 750 you can lube cases then set up a toolhead to deprime ,resize and trim with a 1200/1500 trimmer. tumble off the lube. swage with a Super Swager 600 and then run through the press to reload in a second pass. depending on how badly your flashholes are clogged will determine whether you knock it out with a pick , agitation or depriming die in station 1. just my thoughts

The fiasco with the Mossberg Patriot was the most obvious example, but it’s here too - lot of people clicked on this vid to see how he’d deal with the PITA crimped primer pockets on that bulk brass he bought - but nope, he skips right over it (“the brass we’re using for this story has already been fully processed”) lol okay bro. New to reloading, only done about 300 rounds of 5.56 on a T7. When you resize in station 1 do you not worry that some cases need trimming? I’ve been depriming/resizing & then trimming before primer/charge, am I backwards or inefficient?

Most people reloading 223 will run it in 2 passes. The first pass deprimes and resizes. Then it comes off the press and gets cleaned. Then back on the press for priming/powder/bullet. Typically you may need to trim every 3rd firing or so. I have about 30 gallons of 223 and have no way of knowing how many times each has fired. A caliper or case gauge will show you that. My 223 prep head has a dillon trimmer on it so every case prepped gets trimmed.
