Gavin, that’s a really sweet setup! I learned a little trick from GunBlue490’s channel on how to initially set the powder dispenser that I thought was genius. With the hopper empty, weigh out the desired charge and dump it into the hopper. Now, open the measure enough to let it all in. Finally, close the measure until there is no room left. Fill the hopper and run a few cases through it. This will put you very close to where you want. Thanks for the video 👍👍

That was pretty slick way of setting your powder drop using a empty cartridge and a gram scale instead of messing with the scales I'm going to try that Thanks for that

I’m a sucker for .22 cal rifle. But I’ll pass on 22 Arc. Got a 22-250 that shoots .5 and lower moa. Got four loads with my .224 Valkyrie shooting 80-90 grain bullets at .25 moa. No need to complicate things more lol.

As reloading die selection is currently limited, might it be safe to assume that one could purchase a 6.5 Grendel Bushing FL Die and a 6.5 Grendel Seater? Replace the bushing and seating stem with appropriate 22cal parts? I expect that the FL die would be functional for converting 6.5 Grendel brass as well, possibly a couple steps with different size bushings?

have you seen PSA's line of bolt guns shown at shot show this year? what are your thoughts on them if so? a rem 700 foot print with what looks to be a savage barrel nut system sounds like as good as someone could get I'm definitely interested in get one when they come out, do you think you may do a mini build series on it?

you're right, I had to look that one up as I didn't know about it lol. but at the same time, a build your own rifle at what PSA would charge for it while using readily available and popular upgrade parts for r700 rifles sounds like an excellent idea, in my opinion the best budget option currently would be a howa barreled action, and then bergara above that, and of course those don't come with a barrel nut factory so if you wanted that versatility it would cost even more. I guess what I'm getting at here is that this emerge rifle system is a fantastic idea on paper and I'm really crossing my fingers that they follow through and produce it, there isn't many details on it as there was far more focus on PSA'S other options at shot show (but I doubt I'd be able to get my hands on most of them thanks to Canadian gun laws, ew) but I am excited none the less.@@awag160

Gavin, do uou mever worry about at least a chamfer when you loqd bottle neck on the progressives? ALSO what did you lube the cases with and what method? Did you actually put imperial on by hand or use maybe one shot or something?

Try the Dillon spray on your clean brass after they’re wet tumbled with stainless media and dry. It’s lanolin and alcohol air dries fast too. Load as you would on the press and then tumble in a dry vibratory. Or. You can use a microfiber towel and clean off the lube. It’s how I’ve been doing it for a while now with great results. I only use imperial wax on my single stage nd turret presses

That is cool and all, being the new "shiny" round, but I will stick with my 22-250 Ackley Rem 700 with a custom 1-7 twist barrel. My 22-284 is also wearing a 1-7 twist barrel. I think one of the best things about this is we might be seeing heavier, sleeker 22 cal bullets. I want heavier bullets for my 22-284, so much that I even considered getting into swaging my own.

I'm running a 22-250 with old school 64gr berger bullets an my swift I'm using 60gr sierra if I need fast 75gr vmax in my 6mm creed or 243 an 6mm remington think I got it covered for varmint an predator

The real wins of the 22 ARC is that its been around forever as the 22 Grendel wildcat and it can be shot from a AR15 length mag. Hornady screwed up with the 6 ARC and should have just made it a 6 Grendel, but thats water over the dam now. Neither of the cartridges you shoot can do that. Are the 22-250 AI and the 22-284 barrel melters capable of higher velocity and probably slightly better accuracy? Probably. But this isnt the purpose of the 22 ARC.

@@waynemayle865 Once again, you missed the point. A 6 CM or 22-250 cannot be run from an AR-15 length mag. That's the point of the 22 ARC, even if Gavin is showing it being run from a bolt gun.

@@waynemayle865 Thanks for the "fast breakdown" but once again, you completely missed the point. The 22 ARC was designed to be run from an AR15 length/size mag with a max COAL of 2.260. Yes, I know the AR10 platform, which is much larger and heavier, can run 22-250, 6 CM, 308, etc, but that isnt the point here now is it? It is a purpose designed cartridge for a specific purpose and does quite well in that role. Now if you want to debate the merits of a short action cartridge, think 308 family stuff, vs smaller stuff like the ARCs, BRs, Grendels, that is a discussion that is worth having. The debate if an AR15/10 is a good platform vs a bolt gun is another.

Would you recommend the staball match for the 88gr ELD's also? I was just about to to go grab a pound of staball 6.5 for them, but was also curious about the match, being it's a little faster burning than staball 6.5. any help would be appreciated!

It's going in a 24" ballistic advantage 22 arc barrel when they are completed, if that helps. It'll be in a gas gun though.

You got a typo @ 27:22. You have ~0.0005" runout but the the text says 0.005". Five thousandths wouldn't be anything to brag about!

Bass pro shops has 88 grain eld matchs in stock for the best "in stock" price right now. I swore I saw brass some where also. I'll double check, but I got 4 boxes of the 88 grain eld match rounds from bass pro, the other day.

Get some 6.5 Grendel OR 6ARC brass and convert like us 6ARC guys had to do for years before we got Starline or more virgin from Hornady. I prefer Starline to Hornady so would start with their 6ARC or 6.5 Grendel.

This is about the only way your going to be able to acquire this ammo making it yourself, hornady is a one croc of shit company screwing over customers who have bought the barrel or uppers 👎🏻
