Fun fact, and you can look this up, metal detectors work by detecting magnetic fields. Now that you know that, go find a piece of true stainless steel and stick a magnet to it. Surprise, it doesn't stick. Now stick a magnet to a piece of polymer plastic ... Doesn't stick. Now stick a magnet to lead, or brass... Doesn't stick. Nobody is going to tell you this, but metal detectors are a false sense of security for people who don't know how they operate. You can absolutely get CERTAIN types of pistols past metal detectors. I know because we have tested it. Yes they can be adjusted to detect some of these, but I assure you they are turned down to not be that sensitive due to zippers in clothes, earrings, metal screws, joints, plates from surgical procedures, etc. Next time you go through one, try leaving your keys in your pocket or your phone in your pocket or both. I'll bet you it doesn't go off unless you are at the airport. It's what we call "security theater". It's just to deter people. Keep that in mind when you convince yourself you are safe while unarmed.

You’re right. That’s really important. I said as much to a current presidential candidate. Kennedy Jr showed up on 𝕏 saying “I will not take your guns.” That statement alone tells me that he believes he would have the power to make that decision in the first place. So I told him that he should knock it off because although I do love some of the things he says about policy plans and all that, the simple fact (in my opinion) that he believes he could, but assures is he won’t, is a massive red flag and I would no longer even consider him a potential until he publicly states his unwavering and absolute support for 2A. edit: p.s. I’m nobody so it’s not like I believe I made much of an impact but I do know that he actually writes his own posts out there unlike some others. So there’s at least a chance that he read what I said and that matters to me. Just getting the idea out in front of him that it really isn’t his choice, like you sort of stated above. Thanks for bringing that up. It really is important.

If local governments have the right to impose gun laws, that means local governments can ignore higher authorities. By government, I mean ANY entity responsible for an area of ground or facility. Just being Ex Police does not mean you can carry a gun. It’s retired Law Enforcement, however, you have several requirements to be allowed to carry a gun. Basically you have to still be a cop but now you don’t work full time. Almost like being a reservist, and I say almost. However, even in New York in the 60s and 70s you had Irish gangs. A lot of “gangs” were organized by crime syndicates. Lucky Luciano and Myer Lansky were both in a gang in their youth. In Los Angels, gangs go as far back as the 1920s, which were more like “clubs” from certain neighborhoods. In New York, gangs were organized around labor and union scrapping. Perhaps those gangs were more disciplined and honored certain behavior. When drugs came into the equation everything and everyone changed. Perhaps the theory of the gang is lasting, but the people have changed its practice.

My Dad's business partner does dealings in Kennesaw, Georgia which is the only known city where you are "mandated" to carry. He told us one time that Walmart in Kennesaw is more secure than Fort Knox. Anyone knows if you try to to even shoplift, lead will fly your way. I was there at the Fair when this happened. I was in the Pan American arena. When we found out what was happening, I told my family to stay in the arena. I went out front of the arena to make sure nobody was going to get to my family. I am a LTC holder & I was willing to stop any threat from hurting my family or anyone else in that building. They tried to get my wife & family to leave the building, my wife told them I was out front & going to protect them at any cost & she was not leaving until I was there to escort them out. If they succeed in the ban, I will not be going down there with my family this year.
