Not very Lovecraftian in the world-sense (Angels and demons), but if you're referring to people going crazy and the sense of dread in Berserk. Than I think I know what your getting at, otherwise its not like Lovecraft at all.

arkinyte13 Lovecraft had the idea that our world was created by beings beyond our imagination, not Gods and Demons, if you will, but ancient indescribable things. Here in Berserk, the force of nature that we don't even begin to realize is nature is the river of destiny. Fate and causality, are real things, and are manipulated at a very high level by the "God of the Abyss" It's explained very thoroughly in the part of the series where Guts fights the Count (indirectly) and when Griffifth's soul confronts the giant flesh mound that is the Idea of Evil. I see many Lovecraftian similarities in that aspect. The underlying antagonists in HP's works were usually insane cults, or non-human monsters that were all either worshipers of or part of a vigintillion-year old hierarchy of dark beings. Here in Berserk, we see how the Apostles (the deformed former humans), and the God Hand, are that darkness.

Awesome, didnt realize tehy covered more with the later games (thought would be stuff that didnt relate to the manga) damn I wish I could of imported those games. My intro to Berserk was via Dreamcast Game that I played and really enjoyed. Wasnt until last year I finished watching the anime and read the manga. If the anime ended better (lot of stuff missed out and it had much darker ending because it doesnt carry on). I would of seen it as a masterpiece anime-still 1 of the greatest I seen.

This is such a killer song ... the video's pretty damn good too, except for the framerate crapping out on some of the game captures. Kinda jars the action when shit's jumping around like that, and I've seen high-quality captures with smooth animation you could've used. I'd recommend a higher-quality redo, maybe something in 720p, but it's still pretty kickass as is!

Even after he got Puck, his fight with Rosine basically spelled out that Guts was more monstrous than most of the *actual monsters* he fought. He was the Black Swordsman: the one-eyed terror with a blade that no man should have been able to wield, before whom even demons begged for mercy.

Well, the game came out in 2004, and I don't really know how active Sammy Studios are now. Berserk on DC wasn't big, and neither was this. The game is pretty linear, and it was pretty easy to beat without translation. There should be translations of the game online. So far the Berserk World is about to be turned upside down and since Miura was on a 6+ month hiatus until recently, I wouldn't be surprised if a new game comes out down the road.
