thune has the right idea(not saying others dont do it too) of setting up mini tours and just hitting venues one after another, and just knock it out. The comics that do the whole road thing, just traveling to a different city every weekend and play a thur night show, then 2 shows on Fri and 2 on a Sat, all to people that may or may not know who you are, just living out of a suitcase, are definitely true road dogs. But once you get any kind of notoriety, especially with all the ways to promote ones self on social media, doing a mini tour with other comic friends and just hit 15 cities in like 16-17 days, or 25 in 30 days, just something like that, and you make some decent cash, plus everyone that comes to the show are people that purposely bought tickets cause they knew the comics.

Aside from the top 5% of comedians, most of these guys like Bert NEED the club..because they dont have enough fans in each city to fill up 250 seats 4-5 times per weekend. They count on the 40% of people who are just there to "see comedy" and have a night out. Not everyone can just go sell out every room like Sebastian Maniscalco.
