You have the darker orange juice of Chypre Palatin. Good for you. From what I understand, the juice is a lighter color now, hence. Yes, juice colors do change with time, but when I got mine in 2015/16, it was darker and brand new. Might it have to do with the ingredients and seasons, well, maybe? But before you go shopping for a Chypre Palatin, consider looking up Kafkaesque's thoughts on this. The owner of MDCI and Kafkaesque were verbally duking it out. That's one tough cookie. Ensar kinda was in attack mode with Kaf on a recent blog. Anyways, I've sampled a very good number of L'Artisan back when it was BeautySpin, then Notino. I wish I bought more bottles, but I didn't from the house. Just 2. When I hear the name Bertrand Duchaufor, my mind automatically goes to Marc/Robe8 If there was one guy who pounded the table with that name, it was Robs. Glad you picked up the torch. Ya know, for a while, I was getting a little bored with the info style uploads from the frag community here on KZbin. Glad you and Rich are around. Down to earth and at all levels. it's a good personal experience. I don't feel like I'm watching TV.

Try and find the older bottle with the darker Juice... rumor is... its been reformulated... but I have never tried the new stuff 🤷‍♂️ Cant believe you have never tried some of master Duchaufour's creations mate.. you are in for a treat prof 🍻

Thank you for sharing, i love his work and have collected quite alot of his fragrances. Traversee du Bosphore and Seville a L’Aube are great ones from l’Artisan Parfumeur imo. I am happy to have stocked up on vintage Traversee, such a great fragrance. Skin on skin is pretty good too, similar to Traversee du Bosphore on my skin…a little less sweet and with some added smoke. Chypre Palatin is my current favourite of his, absolute masterpiece :)

My La Belle Helene just arrived today as I watched your video. Great video, thank you! Back on Helene, she's a beauty. So odd, so gentle, yet so elegant. Perfectly balanced, haven't smelled anything similar. All the fruits and florals compliment each other perfectly, it screams spring. Give it a try if you haven't!

Amouage gold man thought me to like civet. Patou pour homme arrived and I have to confess that the Sandelwood is another level. Wow I loved equipage

Yes Amouage gold & Kouros are a few of my favorite Civet frags....Glad you grabbed yourself a bottle of Patou Pour Homme mate... i know its blasphemy but I think I prefer Hermes Equipage Geranium to the original Equipage 🤷‍♂️

Another great description of Amouage Gold Man and Gentleman’s Cologne. I got a few different vintage versions too (gentleman cologne, gold dagger one and friction cap), and out of everything I prefer the friction cap Gold man the most - it’s the most skanky one. Gold woman is amazing too, especially extrait version. It’s pretty much Gold Man with extra floral and less civet. Kudos for comparing the Dioressence too. For me, Amouage gold is Guy’s perfected version of Dioressence. Guy Robert is the 2nd generation perfumer in his family, his dad was the in-house perfumer for Chanel and made many great perfumes, and Guy’s son is also a talented perfumer who now has his own house which makes limited edition seasonal perfumes with natural ingredients (with hits and misses in my opinion). Guy is also teacher of Vero Vern whom I mentioned before, who made Onda (you must try her perfume collection - all smell like inspired by great vintage perfumes of the past)

Loved everything I have tried by 'the magician'. Jubilation XXV is incredible but it's Chypre Palatin I really want to get my nose on.

Dont blind buy the new stuff yet... start digging around the vintage hovels... check with mudassir on basenotes for example first... blind buy the new stuff as an absolute last resort 😆

Dia Man sounds like a dream to me as I love the smell of Peony. I found an extremely old bottle, but it's still described as so subtle, yet still long lasting so I don't know that I can justify paying that price. I'm so torn. I did pick up my first Guerlain's though. 2008 Habit Rouge EDT, 2010 Mitsouko EDT, and the discontinued Aqua Allegoria Pivoine Magnifica (thought about Dzongkha). Haven't gotten them yet. I also just got some original 1978-1980 Estee Lauder Cinnabars in 7ml. Lmk if you want one.

I made a basic, homemade solo scent put of raw Benzoin resins. Probably 30% So sticky the crook of the inside of my arm are sticking together. Beautiful vanilic vibe. Also an Omani Oppoponax. Light, sweet, lemony, smokey, musty, pine terpines.

Eau d'Italie Sienne l'Hiver The hole range of Neela Vermeire Reims Parfums - there are 3 scents, all of them based around incense.

Bravo maestro, you are my fragrance brother ! Duchaufour is my favourite perfumer, because of Jubilation 25. The smell is amazing. I expected from you to show us Enchanted Forest by Vagabond Prince. Sartorial is on my shoping list, but Chypre Palatin with the bust is on another level. Beautiful design. So, perfumers from France really mastered the creative process of niche fragrances. You can do a video about the best Dominic Ropion fragrances. He is another French gentleman. I'm wearing Dia Man now. Wonderful evening here in Serbia. Greeting to you. Great content man. Hey , did you read the whole blog of Chypre Palatin being reformulated where Claude and a respectable blogger went back and forth? What is your opinion on fragrances being reformulated? What I don’t get is, why would a brand which is already charging big money, do a reform? Another question, what is your advice for storing perfumes temperaturewise? Cheers man.

I just keep my perfumes out of sunlight but my house is usually constantly around 70 degrees. As far as reformulations go that is one of my boggest things... yes I think reformulations happen either to stay compliant with IFRA / European Cosmetic Coucil protocalls or to save money on cost. I heard Chypre Palatin has been reformulated but never smelled the newer bottles so I couldnt tell you 🤷‍♂️

Well, it will come as no surprise that I think Amouage Gold Man is too "dirty". The rumor is that it is Vladimir Putin's signature scent. No idea the truth in that. You mentioned Equipage. Now there is a great fragrance! One of my favorites. Jo Malone Amber and Lavender was the first Jo Malone I wanted to actually buy. But they didn't have a bottle in the size I wanted so I got Birch and Lavender instead, which I don't like because it tricked me - I liked the opening but it dried down metallic.

RE: Penhaligons Talk to your buddy Rich Mitch and he will tell you of a lovely little number called Endymion! (I have the Cologne and he reviewed the newer concentree AKA edp version) Sartorial and Endymion are my two favorite male-marketed fragrances from that House. I also really dig Love Potion No9 men, English Fern (c.1911!), Quercus, Malabah. I'm a big Penhally's fanboy but I think you might enjoy two from the Anthology series (revisited & revamped "vaulted" scents): Esprit du Roi (spirit of the king) & Eau Sans Pariel (water without sweetness) one of which has a great tomato leaf accord and I DO believe both the latter ones were done by The Magician! smell swell & be well!! xox BTW: I have and love all of these except Al Oudh, Dzongkha & Corpus Equus (will be getting CE this year, love love love Naomi and the other one he did with her is my mostest favoritest Goodsir ever: Nuit de Bakelite-check this out if you are an angeliquophile). ALSO FYI-if you go to the MDCI site and order the bust bottle of Chypre Palatin you qualify for a 40mL (4 x 10mL) bpth!set of any from the line you desire. Check out the Wafts from the Loft guys review for Satin Bleu, Cuir Cavalier & Le Homme aux Gantes they explain it better...it's quite an expense but you get an amazing bottle plus like almost another bottle worth of juice and it's a variety which is more appealing to me! (Would always go for a variety/discovery set over a full bottle' here, you get BOTH!) INCIDENTALLY...I wore Woody Mood last night and my SOTD today is Traverse du Bosphorus (crossing the Hellespont). The Olfactive Studio extraits are all amazing! I believe WM is my favorite OS edp. GET Enchanted Forest only if you like black currants. peace
