Bertrand Duchaufour is my current favorite perfumer. You’re absolutely right that his creations seems to be living and breathing. I started with the opulent Jubilation XXV, which I simply adore. The opening is just glorious and dries down to a woody amber symphony. Sartorial was my next sample, which was so unique and evocative to me-an interesting spin on the classic fougere structure that gives me hints of nostalgia. Finally, I was blown away by Timbuktu and its tart mango surrounded by that wispy, clean incense smoke. I just purchased bottles of the latter two and can’t wait to officially add them to my collection. Avignon and Enchanted Forest are next on my try list!

Duchaufour is an absolute incense genius. He captured it beautifully, transporting you to different places, Avignon, Kyoto, Bhutan, Timbuktu... My absolute favorite is Dzongkha, I don't find the iris metallic or "distant", but soft and airy. I get wet stone, paper and a beautiful, calm incense (vetiver).

I have never spoke about it for a long time until now , but I get the impression that one of you should be more generous( when it comes to talking and views) , it would really give a better impression of thee...more gentleman more refined. One step back a little bit one step forward much more, it's nobody fault but more rolls of life we take for granted.My critic may be offensive but i only wish the best for the two of you

Loved watching this guys, and yes I’d have watched every minute if it had been 8 hours long!😆 BD is the first perfumer who’s name I wanted to find out after smelling some of his fragrances, especially Timbuktu - I just had to know who created such a thing of utter beauty! 🙌

early greek thanks! Yes, CP was the obvious omission, although it’s one I think has suffered most from reformulation, and possibly the most prohibitively expensive.

I loved many of his creations, I wonder what he feels when he know more of them have been reformulated. Jubilation it's a pale comparison, but most of his creations are now weaker, famelic versions of what they were. Havana vanille, remember that? it's so sad, it's lost art.

Yes, it's particularly sad with L'Artisan Parfumuer. A real shadow of their former selves since they've been bought and rebranded
