@Shreyaawashere what you talk about is not "marriage" but a "inter marriage problem in india because of caste" I can never imagine marrying a guy herself with just informing my parents. Western culture is very different and there are problems in every way there is two sides of every coin like in western culture marriage is kind of consider as a formality. Which can be broken it's just like boyfriend girlfriend with a legal formalities that's it. Whereas in india marriage is consider as one time thing. About honour killing and all things are changing people are changing acceptance is increasing caste and all are still prevalent in society but still now people take it lightly (and expecting caste and all to evaporate in few years is difficult bcz this things were continue from centuries and centuries) and about killing and all its a rarity now. Tbh if my parents deny the boy I like I won't go against them. My parents would always choose the best for me. I had seen enough people going against their parents for marriage later remain alone with a child and with lots of problems
@afkass4965
@afkass4965 3 жыл бұрын
@Shreyaawashere it's not prevalent in big cities anymore. Nobody really sees caste OR religion as a barrier . My neighbour is south Indian pure Hindu Brahmin and his wife is Muslim. Doesn't make a difference and they live a very happy life. It's the mentality of rural areas which has to change , and very soon will
@Sinha2098
@Sinha2098 3 жыл бұрын
@Shreyaawashere in some cases the "very best" is influenced by society caste and all and to be honest it's now mostly seen in rural areas. You can't judge everyone bcz you had heard about it people say many things make many stories but what's happening around you is what matters. I live in Maharashtra and too be honest and but I was born in Bihar and if my roots you see is in bihar and you know the image bihar has but too be honest every marriage I seen in my family ie. In bihar or Maharashtra they are all 90% times love marriage and they are happy with the blessings of their respective parents. People had made the image that yes that thing happen and I'm also not denying it it must be happening somewhere but painting everything in one light is very very wrong. Everything have two sides this too have. About caste problem see I mention it earlier also caste problem will be there for 10-20 years more as it been carried by centuries and it will take time and people are accepting it also. Tbh I got to know my caste and my friends caste during board exam bcz of reservation. (I hate this system 1st they wi make caste system to prevail in society strong 2nd it's wrong to give things on the basis of caste. Still it will be there bcz of political again of politicians and the people who are getting benefits will never accept to withdraw this power of their over us)

I had a friend who married a Indian man and it was her 1st time in a sari and it wasn't put on properly and she tripped and it fell off her she pretty much flashed the entire wedding guests and all her new family her underwear during her entrance but thankfully her sister inlaws were next to her when it happened and did there best to hide her and then took her to the bathroom and put it on her properly. My poor friend was crying and had to have her make up redone and was so embarrassed but she laughs at it now and says she was being stubborn and should of accepted help from her in-laws to get dressed but being a white Aussie girl was to embarrassed to be dressed by someone so she watched a KZbin video to put her sari on herself and the accident ended up making her feel more humble and let people help. There is even a video of it that she kept to remind her self to ask for help.

Yes thats true...mostly parents , siblings, nd close relatives take up different responsibilities like wedding hall arrangements, catering, music etc...although these days all these things are outsourced to wedding planners so that family members can fully enjoy the party nd ceremonies...but families with lower budgets still plan their son's or daughter's wedding along with the close relatives nd neighbours.

As an Indian who's ancestors were indentured to Fiji in the early 1900s we have streamlined a lot of this down to three days for the groom and four days for the bride, but it's still a lot. A lot of the nomenclature has also changed from classical Indian terms to newer ones that we have used for a few decades. I guess our cultures changed when we had to integrate to a different society.

I don't care how big it is, I want to invite every person I have ever met so that I can tell them that they have touched my life and that I am thankful that they are here. I'm not Indian (to my knowledge at least, but who knows) but I worked in a store that sold a lot of Indian clothes and it always fascinated me so much. The couple who owned the place were both Indian and they treated me like a daughter. They taught me so much, and yet, there is still so much I don't know. As a lover of culture, I find these sorts of videos intriguing. Your wedding was beautiful!! I'm so glad you found someone who you love so much, and I'm glad you were able to embrace the culture too!

To me there's a lot of traditions associated with Indian weddings like Beryl's that are so lovely: the Sangeet sounds so much nicer than a typical American Bachelorette party, and the notion that the bride's parents start things off by welcoming the groom very officially sounds so very sweet. I think these are things that can be done low-key, but just the meaning behind them appeals so much more.

That's not the point lol Ppl are trying to veer away from dramatic wedding simply to avoid getting sucked in the wormhole that causes financial and mental stress. It burns a hole in many people's pockets. Trying to cut the unnecessary nonsense is, quite frankly, a good call. Those who have deep pockets may go ahead and do these dramatic ass weddings, but i'd rather a middle class family lets go of the bling part and marries in a way that keeps it simple and cute.

From what I have read(may not be accurate so I apologize in advance), the white wedding dress tradition started with Queen Victoria wearing a white dress during her wedding ceremony.
@lady_sir_knight3713
@lady_sir_knight3713 2 жыл бұрын
Ipshita has it, it started with Queen Victoria wearing a white dress to make a statement of simplicity compared to royal brides before her, who wore cloth of silver or cloth of gold. Regular people of the time wore all kinds of colors to get married, red and blue were particularly popular. But Victoria was so popular it took over, and after a few decades of all white wedding dresses, it was just how things were.

White also represents peace, purity, innocence and sacredness. So it's used during funerals or worn by widows in some parts of India. I personally feel that it's a good idea to use white wedding dress as it shows sacredness of the new bond.
