Awww when that beautiful girl said "idk I just love my grandma" I felt that. I also love my grandma so so much! I call her Nanny. She's so sweet. It breaks my heart that she is getting so old now. She can't even walk on her own anymore. Her mind is fine (thank god) but her body doesn't want to cooperate anymore. I remember being a little girl (even in my teens) basically living with my Nanny and Poppie (Rip Poppie my very best friend. My world, my rock, my heart. He passed when I was 14 and almost 20 years later I miss him everyday) anyway, Nanny and I would would go for long walks with the dogs, she cooked the best food and always insisted I eat more than my fill. She would play games with me and was always there for me. Grandparents are such a beautiful blessing and I'm so very sorry for those who haven't been able to experience that. Like my kids ... They have no grandpa on my side. My "dad" is alive but never loved or cared about me and never bothered with my amazing children either. My mom lives 10 mins away yet never cares enough to do anything with them. Even when we lived with her for months she acted more annoyed with them then anything. She didn't even care to get to know them as people and they're some really amazing people. She spends time with her other grandkids so it's especially messed up that she never bothers with my kids. Their dads mom is a crazy, mean, stupid b*tch who doesn't care or bother either. Even if she did I wouldn't allow her around my kids. Now my husband's (kids grandpa) is the best to my kids. He loves them and does what he can for them. He's not far and every 2 months or so will take them for an overnight. So I guess they have him but he doesn't do anything with them except sit on the couch and watch tv. I'm glad they have him and that he cares just wish he did more like my grandma and grandpa did with me when I was younger. Those are my most cherished childhood memories.

OMG, I do also combine sweets and cheese. My personal favorite, whenever I crave something sweet and there's not an actual dessert nearby, is a toast with Nutella and shredded cheese. Best combo ever!

Growing up in the summer months, we didn't always have a ton of groceries for lunches. One of the sandwiches that I had and loved (still love), was mayo and banana. Simple, three ingredients. Cheap white bread, mayonnaise and a ripe banana (cut lengthwise in strips). My kids don't get it. That's okay.

Loved banana sandwiches growing up, we used butter instead of mayo but I think I might try mayo, sounds really good :)

I'm gonna try that peanut butter/pickle thing RIGHT NOW! I'm gonna use naan bread and put sweet pickle relish on one half and a hot dill slice on the other. *5-minutes later* O! M! G! That's the BEST COMBO! The hot pickle and mayo...mmm mmm! The sweet pickle relish was like a salty sweet jam. Everything just enhanced the peanut butter. This is now my go-to snack of choice.

The ube halaya and cheese on toast, reminds me of cheesy ube pandesal tht have been gaining popularity in the Philippines in recent years. Also, the crunch from toast is quite similar to the crunch you get from freshly baked pandesal~

I am so stoked about how much you love the PB, pickle & mayo sandwich. It's something that my friend's mother made us for lunch as a child & (despite my own family thinking it was completely bizarre), I have been eating it ever since. SO good! My favorite is crunchy PB, dill pickle slices & Sir Kensington's mayo on rye or Pumpernickel toast. AMAZING.

here in Mexico there’s something called marquesitas that’s basically a crepe you can put Nutella , condensed milk , cajeta and what makes them special is that they have this specific cheese called “queso the bola and once the ingredients are on the crepe they just roll the crepe and there’s a marquesita so the sandwich with sweet and cheese reminded me of it lmao
