This video shows the construction of a Fire and Forget, Sensor-Radar Homing seeker, Automatic Guided Missile that is Logic based.
The key elements of this design include
-Missile body
-Guidance sensor
-Guidance computing
-Warhead
-Missile stabilization
-Missile control surfaces
-Missile motor
-Launch platform
-Missile body of this design is just a ballast.
-Guidance sensors are directly mounted onto the ballast with a low-FOV, this set up is more favorable for Anti-Tank or attacking slower targets with higher precision and less likely chance to be distracted by debris. The sensors are also able to detect things more consistently because the 4 sensors are spun allowing them to detect at every angle possible (disregarding logic tick delays)
-Guidance computing, there is barely any computing on this missile, being that the sensors just directly communicate with the control thrusters.
-Warhead, a bomb
-Missile Stabilization, this uses overflow nive drag generator and spinning which helps stabilize the missile in-flight.
-Missile control surfaces, the design shown uses turning thrusters like a spaceship with nives, but it is possible to do control surfaces, thrust vectoring, reaction wheels, etc.
-Missile motor, a Nive, can use other things such as fans/flying blocks, etc.
-Launch platform, this is fairly important, as this missile has both "bullet drop" (where it forms a curve in altitude during its flight path (under the condition that the sensors are not correcting the missile for any targets), and also that the missile needs to point in the general direction of a target for the sensor's low FOV to pick up onto the target.
BIG ISSUE Alert!!!
the sensor missile gets distracted VERY easily by any physics objects, in theory it would target the largest object since that gets more detection time, but in practice if your map has physics objects, you're doomed, if the tank has like some kind of chaff, you're doomed, etc. (this also applies to SAMs, AAMs, etc, anything sensor guided)

Thanks! Wouldn't be possible without the rest of the Besiege community though.

Why'd you use water cannons instead of flying blocks? Better thrust?

Yes and no, for this video's demonstration of a quite slow and low-G missile, it doesn't matter. Additionally, the benefits of flying blocks might be better in this scenario. There wasn't a real logical choice behind it, random selection. But the main difference is, water cannons give more thrust simply from the fact they cannot break from physical force (only tick damage can break water cannon). But the upside of flying blocks are that they're lighter, (0.5 mass for flying block, 1.5 for water cannon), they have built in drag, which is useful for stability. Flying blocks have issue of breaking from physical force, (meaning the cap for a flying block's max thrust output is it's connection strength, not the integer limit (which is what the water cannon has ) ). additionally flying blocks break from fire. For hyper optimized missiles, this will matter. For this simple demonstration, it doesn't really. Hope this explained it well enough.

Really great concept, is there anyway to do this without the cameras showing

@@breahd5283 You can change the position of the sensors, scale of the sensors, but they still need to have a similar detection area as shown in the video, or use invinsible skin.

one question have somehow make more compact like the camera have somehow let they smaller idk if can make the rocket better or wrost

I'm assuming camera = sensors, but the scale of each sensor is more on the design needs, since the scale affects how much physical space it takes up and where the "sensor" collider is, the part that can actually detect stuff. The radius and distance of sensors depending on the design of the missile matters a lot. bigger radius is good for better detection but is way more likely to have "false" detections, where it tracks something that isn't the target. Distance also matters since if the missile design is physically incapable of targeting things (for example 1km away) then it wouldn't need a sensing distance of 1.5km because it would only increase the likely hood of it tracking not targets. There is no "x" size is best currently, mainly because of the fact sensor missiles have so many variables that affect their performance. So the best size is what makes that specific missile design most effective. And AFAIK, no one has created a best missile of besiege yet.
