Clearly the NSX-R had some issue in the braking test because it was phenomenal, as expected, under braking on the track. And at 19:10 I was like wtf does this guy not know how to use mirrors? But then I immediately remembered that was Gan-san who simply gives zero fucks and is easily the most terrifying person to drive against in, at least, Best Motoring history.

As a proud owner of an Na2 and 997S I can tell you, the 997S drives truly incredible .... specially with proper aero/tires/mods /// But the NSX wins on the looks that is for sure!

brake test comes to a complete stop which is much more stress on the tires, also consider brake fade and high speed corner entry stability.
Ferrari does well with F1 transmission but even though it had better brake test results than NSX-R, in race brake too early against NSX-R... So biased

NSX R NA2 just showed how amazing this car was when she came out, and even many years later, simply beating all the new models from Europe in performances! The NSX would won first place if this Gan-San who is very famous dangerous driver in Best Motoring wasn't dangerously blocking and almost crash his own son just to be the winner ! RIP to Ayrton Senna who helped Honda to set up the chassis of this NSX R just before he passed away, sadly he never got the chance to drive the production version!

The nsxr is a lot lighter and is far better at braking, that’s how it did so well. You can see throughout the race that the 360 and turbo where faster in a straight line, nothing dodgy going on at all.

You can clearly see that the NSX driver was very all into it, probably sweating ocean in his suit. The 360 has slow downshift and short on gears (On other videos as well). GT2 is only tuned for top speed, that's why it only kicks on the straight even the 360 overtook it. The 911 S is tuned for handling like the NSX but has almost twice the horsepower, the NSX is super light though, that's why it kept up. But, put a 911 GT3 in there and the NSX have no chance tailing behind. It's not fake, if you know how to drive, you can tell on every drivers' movements. Japanese loves European cars specially Porches, VW and Alfa Romeos. They want every possible result to further improve their Japanese cars. It's why they always have a chat and suggestions to manufacturers for improvements after each race.

I am also having a hard time understanding how the 360 and 911 Turbo had such poor speed on the backstraight despite being the 2 fastest cars there and significantly better braking than the NSX in the braking test.

A car tuned for top speed, won't win in a circuit against a track-tuned car. It's why even the 360 and the NSX overtook it. There's also a reason why Porsche created the GT3. It's the apex predator of their 911 lineups despite having no turbo, because of being a lightweight, track-focused all-rounder car.

It is one of, if not, the best in the field under brakes I mean just look at 14:50 and also how it closed on the Carrera S and Turbo under braking even before turn in. Something went wrong in the braking test.

wasuprobleemjoh The NSX R is truly amazing under breaking conditions on track, but not in pure breaking to 0 km/h. This is a weakness they found out in this episode of Best Motoring, Honda was too much focused on making it a track machine, so the ABS electronic breaking system isn't well set up for emergency breaking! But got an amazing breaking performances while running on tracks !

Commuter cars, like Mazda have good emergency braking while the car PITCHES straight forward -- only. But when it comes to braking with tons of body ROLL and YAW turns, it's another topic of engineering since it already goes hand-in-hand with suspension and chassis setups.

You gotta remember that Porsche created the GT3 as well. It has no turbo, less horsepower but murders the GT2 Turbo in every conditions. Because, lightweight and track-focused race car. -- Like the NSX. Power isn't always the answer.

That is total bull... Porsche Turbo destroys NSXR on qtr mile acceleration test, but the NSX gains on it from the start line on the straight? All the Porsches destroy the NSX on braking by a long way, but the drivers in the Porsches brake early on track and let the NSX out brake them? Total bull.

This is just a period from 2005 - 2007 or '08 when Japan didn't came out with the R35 GTR. So they had to push a NA2 NSX-R a few years more :) Even though it was basically over 15 yo design at that time.
