Idk man, Bay had me at DEFINITELY Not-Bay's Smugglers :D But really, not just because he's my favorite hero, but Odysseus' campaign is fantastic. A really good neutral and safe start, where you can basically go anywhere and do anything - Agamemnon loves you and would (maybe) do anything for you, especially give you stone. You have bronze, you have stone, you have a wife of remarkable beauty and a male child, you have a fast ship and you have freedom. Ohh... And you have Exemplary Ambushers, which are one of the best non-gold units in the game - very fast and with "light" armor of 55, shield and 43 MD, 7 AP, anti-large javelins with 50% lethality. You have chargers, you have shields, you have archers, you have chariots... Basically everything you need and a very nice and modifyable roster of killers. Replay Troy, organize Olympic Games and get fun units from other factions, become a king, make up a new overpowered god, or just play with laws and gice your javelineers more lethality xD Mediteranean is literally your oyster - or may be - all the oysters on the Mediteranean are yours :)

I gotta say I’ve been loving Thrace. Very challenging start because everyone hates you but your roster is so amazing. Thrace just has the best low-tier units, plainsmen, woodsmen, and hunters are insanely cost-efficient and you get very early access to chariots. The maps in Thrace are perfect for setting up ambushes and slaughtering enemies with your devastating rear charges.

The team from Bulgaria really did an awsome job with this!! Much creed to them for working on this and making it possible. My fav totaly war game ever, so damn epic with battle, music and lots of it. My favorite factions so far is SETI, he is having a strong start with having all resources and weak neighbours. But now atm Im trying Babylon and they are really cool too!

I absolutely loved the campaign with Iolaos. His voicelines are so badass."Does someone else need fire?!" Meanwhile burning down whole world in the name of a sun god. After i burnt down everything i finally settled down in Crete and rebuilt the palace of Knossos.

I played Iolaos with the Egyptian ruling tradition of Akhenaten. Very strong - this allows you to build tribal posts for the Sea Peoples + religious temples (actually not possible for Sea Peoples) with the two best deities that you get to know on your way. In the end you become a pharaoh.:)

Yeah that is SOOOOOOOO fun for real,the only issue I have is that you can't dedicate temples to Isul or the other Sherden gods in outposts,only in hordes. But I found a workaround for the morale debuff with Anubis xd

@ReptilicusTV General tips about the battles is always cool! Maybe things such as good tactics to adhere to or things to keep in mind when deploying your army. How best to take advantage of terrain, etc. Not so much which specific units are the best, more so a general outlook on battles. I feel Pharaoh battles with lethality layered on top of the other features like map terrain have made it really open up different options one can consider.

@@ReptilicusTV Yeah, I've grown to like his lower-tier faction units less and less. The tier V ones are absolute monsters, but the lower ones with Heedless Charger... I'd rather stick to native Canaan units, especially the Swordsmen with pocket javelins! I wish they'd make Heedless also gave your units a speed buff, attack buff or something along those lines while active. Rather than just forcing the hated Rampage mechanic from Warhammer 3 on you - which was changed in a recent patch because it was so universally despised!

Honestly, I've been loving my two Babylon campaigns and my Troy campaign. I've been doing one Babylon campaign for each of the Mesopotamian legacies (for Hammurabi I actually used the "start with all mechanics unlocked on turn 1" option because the laws take a bit to do), and native Akkadian infantry after the farmers is really cost effective so all my bronze goes into my archers and the occasional Babylonian Sapper unit available from the King of Babylon position. Also, Ea Nasir has become a surprisingly reliable ally in both campaigns, who'd have guessed? Meanwhile, Old Priam (he's somehow lasted to 76 in my campaign) is using the Perseus Legacy to try and keep all the hot headed kids in the Aegean from each others' throats so they can focus on the truly important thing: beating the Hittites while they're down and keeping Canaan safe from the Sea Peoples by putting it under the Wannax's protection. Funny enough, Agamemnon and Achilles have been surprisingly chill, it's Odysseus and Ajax that I have to constantly yank back in line by holding games on cool down.

Mesopotamia is the funnest direction imo + the provinces are insanely rich with food,wood and some gold. Canaanites and Hittites should be fine with diplomacy if you secure trade agreements for some time - If you can reach the coast,get Cyprus for an extremely strong military province with all that bronze.

The peleset are indeed the best late game faction. After a kinda troublesome start you can develop your horde and get monster units. With the right buildings and techs you can recruit tier 5 infantry with 8xp, it's ridiculous. The only downside of dynasties for me it's the downgrade in sea peoples armies. Loved the relentless attacks of the late game and they would be even better with the new lethality mechanic

Yeah the Peleset just give me the best overall vibe,unit and campaign experience wise. The feeling you get when you outplay the Canaanites at their own game and set up shop,then turn into an empire is peak. It's a shame on the sea people doomstack downgrade but somehow I got lucky in 2 campaigns where Tjekker and Ekwesh own quite a bit of land and even own royal court position ( I've seen a viewer's picture of a sea people Wanax,I kid you not)

@@Eskeletor_210 yeah, they're pretty bad. Maybe you can use them as an emergency recruit if they're available in special recruitment. Other than that you have that gimmick mechanic of "eat" the special recruits for 1k food each, maybe useful in the very early game but made obsolete by the peleset village outpost.

@@ReptilicusTV I have it on the hardest setting and I totally destroyed my rivals as Amenesse. I then vassalized Memnon early on so that we could rain down hurt on Egypt, then Libya, then Canaan. I took over modern day Cyprus first then used that island as an unsinkable aircraft carrier to rain armies down on the Hittites. Almost every late game turn another Hittite ally declares war on me. The Achaens and Thrace plus the other small powers are neutral. Every now and then they snip off a piece of the Hittite empire. I also conquered Minoa with two armies one of them Amenesses' second son being the main conqueror. It felt so sweet in vassalizing every other Egyptian faction and becoming the man. Bersheeba is also a vassal and I spend them against my enemies in Canaan. I am really enjoying Dynasties and never finished Pharoah as it was too staid for me. Thanks for your content Reptillicus. We need more content from Egypt, Libya and the Levant.

Question, if you play as Achilles, can you confederate Troy? I have been able to confederate other factions in the Agean and taken on their generals into my armies but for some reason Troy will not give me option even when I have taken all their settlements and declared peace.

The Trojans are counted as a separate culture so you shouldn't be able to confed when you're playing the Greeks unless there's a weird loophole/mod

Do you have any recommendations for a melee only faction or playsyle? I was playing Kurunta, but I had to resort to using hittite archers to safely assault settlements as I couldn't deal with enemy archers shooting me from within the settlement. Also, how do you manage fatigue better because my soldiers seem to never recover from very tired during battles.

Honestly,try out the Sherden or Irsu if you want a major faction,heedless charger gives units a monstrous movement speed and attack buff so i kid you not,medium infantry will easily catch up skirmishers. As for fatigue the most generic advice I can give you is to walk until you're in their range - otherwise you need very specific general / unit / equipment traits and avoid sand/mud. Imma be releasing something on that very soon

For minor factions, Assyria is def an interesting faction. I love the Trojan start, and Ramesses is just a great starting location but so difficult. I love Babylon. But I have not tried the Sutu. Def an interesting civilisation to play with.

I think setnakhte campaign on legendary is cursed. i have tried it many times but something always goes wrong. On ny latest try mennefer and his vassals declared a suprise war on me even before civil war. But on theory setnakhte is in prime position to take over lower egypt and go to greece

Iolaos/Sherden. They have great units, a variety of playstyles such as going Path of Maurader and staying a horde or adopting another legacy and forming a nation. As well their faction leader imo has the best VA in the game.

I like mycenae (with Iolaos a close second). Agamemnon is just an arrogant chad and I love it. I also like the way they play personally cuz the solid frontlines and PUNISHING flanks with shock and javs are awesome. I like sneaking behind the enemy through the brush with my javelins and hitting them from behind :)

Im new to the game but Troy is the only faction I’ve found any success with. I’m better with factions that have heavy infantry to hold and good ranged. Im trying the cimmerians because they look like the perfect roster for me with those anotolian spearman and horse archers and that juicy tier 5 melee cav, (I’m not a big fan of chariots) but everyone declares war on me and I get overrun.

The player base for this game is still all time low on steam, this update barely brought anyone back to the game. This proved that barely anyone really care about bronze age. Most people want Medieval 3, Rome 3 and empire 2 and yet CA keeps throwing money where it doesn't matter.
