Check out the 2023 Update! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHiopGaJjcdpfqs

My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. kzbin.infoUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!

I love my outback! There are several great kayak options out there. I think the key is to find what makes the most sense for your fishery.

I hear you bro! It was completely on the spot too. I just rolled up to look through the kayak options. When he started breaking it down. I busted out the camera. Hoping others can benefit something through this man’s knowledge!

i love the sportsman 120 pdl i use it for ponds and the great lakes i have a plug that covers up the hole from narrve kayaks and use that for when it’s shallow. it’s such a good kayak

Love the Old Town 106MK! Easy peasy and loaded with features.
@tightlinerush2 жыл бұрын
I agree! I fish skinny water and needed Hobie’s MirageDrive. I like Old Town’s PDL because it has instant reverse. If my river was deeper. I’d have that yak with a trolling motor. Picking the right kayak comes down to what works best for you.
@philipreasbeck90942 жыл бұрын
why didn't you go with the old town with the trolling motor
@tightlinerush2 жыл бұрын
Great question. For my specific needs, the Hobie Mirage Drive was a necessity. I use my boat for lakes and deep rivers. I needed a kayak to cover skinny water. The river I kayak is inches in some stretches.

Would my brand new from a manufacturer sportsman ap136 full warranty for 1700 bucks be a best buy for 2022?😁

I would say so!!!

I thought you said the “Best”? You didn’t talk about the Old Town 106MK that I saw you had. That’s the BEST kayak, it’s the Cadillac of kayaks.
@tightlinerush Жыл бұрын
I originally went in for the Old Town 120 autopilot. There are many options out there. It all depends on your specific needs. I’m sure the 106MK is a great kayak!

Where's the best premium inflatable kayak? I do not have the available space at home to store the shown kayaks, nor would I be able to lift them onto car roof rack. I own an Advanced Elements Straightedge Angler Pro, weighs approx 25 kgs, packs up to the size of a large suitcase. I have crafted my own mod, adding a 3rd rail for my fishfinder. It does not have all the bells and whistles as those appearing in this video, but it is a dedicated fishing kayak which can fit an electric motor and allows me to fish just fine.

I would be interested in trying out an inflatable kayak. I will do some research and try to circle back with a video for this!

Can we get the same propulsion units for a canoe I dig marine worms in Maine and I would love a different wat to propel canoe than a paddle or a square stern I actually prefer a side motor mount for a canoe it is more ergonomic I saw an old 70s canoe that had what looked like a bumper boat motor in it factory So I'm looking for an old bumper boat so I can Jerry rig an old canoe with a small jet propulsion Can't use a kayak because I need more space I used to pick seaweed cause we ship said marine worms in 125 count and put a unique seaweed that looks like green ramen Use 50pound onion bags Seaweed weighs about 30 35 pounds in a mesh bag same bags used for mussels I put 36 bags in a 16 foot canoe in the ocean if i moved too much i was gonna sink that fer Had about 2 inches sticking out of the water

There are many modification options out there. I would look into the trolling motor mounts they make for canoes. I’ve seen this added to countless makes and models. Check out some examples on Google and you’ll see what I mean. They are sweet!

what do you recommend for river fishing with occasional shallow water with rocks? stand up ability, power pole able, weighs less than 90 lbs
@tightlinerush2 жыл бұрын
I bought my kayak for your specific scenario. My river is 4' deep on average. Some places are 15' and other spots are only a few inches. The mirage drive is perfect. The fins can fold against the kayaks bottom and break away if anything strikes it. They snap back into place once you have clearance. This drive is from Hobie and I went with the Outback.

These kayaks are too wide and too heavy... Also, I want the kayak to carry fish better... The kayak I drive right now is a Viking Reload, it is 29 inches wide, and it weighs 65 lbs. The only thing not perfect about the kayak is the lack of tackle storage in the hull for smashing through the surf, or a "beach launch"... The kayak I am about to buy is probably a Stealth. The 575 is 24 inches wide, weighs around 45 to 55 lbs, and has incredible hull storage. 100% of tackle and fish and electronics are stored in the hull until you pull them out to use them. The speed of the Stealth is between 6 and 12 mph depending on how you paddle. It seems to me as I get better at kayaking and kayak fishing, I demand lighter, longer, and faster kayaks. At 5 mph max speed I cannot see myself in a peddle kayak. Then there is the hull design issues. The cathedral or tri hull style of kayak will get you wasted in the ocean. You need an unstable kayak to operate in an unstable environment. I am sure that freshwater only fishermen might love peddle kayaks, but those of us who actually brave the ocean in a kayak want nothing to do with a short fat heavy stable kayak. The Stealth 575 is 17.5 feet long and unstable, which makes it perfect for me, I think. That being said I dream of an ocean worthy boat with even 1/2 the comfort of one of those frame seat luxury kayaks. I get sore after a few hours. The roughness of the ocean determines how long I can be out there. In the summer I can get 6 hours, maybe more. In the winter sometimes 2 hours or less is all I can do. The mental stress and the physical stress combine to take a serious toll on my body.
@tightlinerush2 жыл бұрын
I primarily chase river smallmouth on my yak. That water gets skinny… we are talking inches. The mirage drive works great! It’s important to do research before pulling the trigger. Being in Ohio, I visit the ocean a couple times a year. (max) The key is finding what kayak works best for you.

I went with intentions of purchasing the Old Town auto pilot. However, left with the Hobie Outback. You can find a kayak in every price range. I started with a Lifetime and eventually upgraded to an Ascend. You will need to see what best fits your needs. I’m always here to help!

Lol all these new yaks with motors trolling motors etc. BUY A DAMN BOAT. A KAYAK ISNT REALLY ADVANTAGE WITH THE BOATS THAT ARE OUT NOW. THEY MAKE 21 FT CC THAT CAN GO IN FT DEEP CREEKS. ONLY THING IS THEY'RE CHEAPER. SHIT A LOT UF THEM ACTUALLY COST SEVERAL THOUSAND. I CAN GET A NICE USED BOAT FOR THE SAME PRICE. THEY WERE COOL AT FIRST NOT ANYMORE
