I've been doing this for quite some time. In past I struggled especially with Sweeps. Taping I've never done succesffuly previously. Yesterday i backed off on sweeping, cause that was way outside of my comfort zone. Today I made my way to legato section. This workout helps me to progress. Thank you m8.

I needed this so badly, THANK YOU! Incredible. I’ve focused so much on theory, improv, and ear training lately that I only just realized how much I’m falling short in working on my technique like this. I’ll be going through this every day! 🙏🏻

I spent about 15 minutes a day for three days, using a metronome, practicing a few of these. I "learned" Master of Puppets back in 2005. It was supper sloppy and using pull-offs instead of down picking. It sounded like hot garbage. I don't know how, or which exercise pertains to the speed of down picking, but now I can do it without effort. Seriously without effort. I am referring to the intro, verse and chorus. Solo is still out of time, but working on it. Amazing instructions.

Learning to play Metallica songs, you come to the realization of how actually ALL of their songs are surprisingly very simple to play, yet sound extremely complicated.... Really makes you appreciate the band individually AND as a group, imo.

Thank you for all the great exercises and lessons! What you do here is fantastic. One question: Do you pick every second run with your middle finger in Legato Ex2 or is that just a reflex motion that we see? :D
@johnwardle96673 жыл бұрын
Hi Bernth! I've been enjoying your videos for a long time. I'm doing s real deep dive into alternate picking right now. I was wondering if you would share any thoughts on your right hand alternate picking technique. If we establish the main movement comes from the wrist, and that's keeping the tempo. Would you say that you're still using your thumb and finger to change the pick angle as you make outside or inside string skips, or use a tighter/looser grip as you move to heavier strings? Or are you aiming to keep the pick held rigidly and using the wrist to make all necessary movements. Thanks! Much love and keep up the great content!
