For defense I personally like HII over NOC. Over 4 years of backlog, sole builder of Aircraft Carriers, 1/2 builders of nuclear submarines, trading at 15 P/E (half of NOC) and 20 P/Fcf (10 less than NOC). Company is guiding for 5% revenue growth but I think that's a bit conservative given further focus on nuclear + growth, margin improvements and profitability of their services division.

Hii has a terrible business model, that's why noc spun them off, I agree on the backlog, but you have to know that there's a certain tax benefit for hii that's included over the next 2 years in terms of estimates, in terms of margins, growth, innovation, noc is superior
